Got set about right at light. Not as far as i wanted to be in here but im liking this spot. Little patch of timber thats old spoil piles from strip mine long ago. Tough to get in here but ive seen a lot of chasing action in here over the years. Had a coyote slip past me no shot and i bumped into a very large doe that did not approve of my being here on the way in. Now i wait. Arrow knocked, and a very itchy trigger finger.

I was just sitting here a few minutes ago feeling like I may need to get out of the tree to "attend to some business". All of a sudden I hear a crash and a doe is running about 60yds away. All of a sudden I see another doe just walking but she is being followed by a buck. I could see his rack but I couldn't tell what he was. I blew the grunt call several times and he finally headed towards me. As he got closer I could see he had a fairly decent rack. I thought if he's at least 8pts I'm gonna take him. He got to 15yds and I could see he had no brows. No brow tines saved his life this morning. And as for me, I feel much better now!

also at my spot by the house. Pretty sure my target buck from last year finally showed. We call him Old Gnarly. He is 6 or 7 this year we think. Ive had this idiotic thing where ive been hanging my cams too low this year so it cut off lot of his rack. The day photo is him last year. Look like its him? If so looks like he definitely lost a little bit of bone up top IMG_8911.png IMG_8910.png

About to check my 0800 cell cam upload, which will probably show a 200" deer frolicking at 0730 less than 25yds from my other ladder stand on this property...

Buck with doe out in field. Different buck a little taller. Wind is picking up and I didn’t dress warm enough.

Just did some grunting and rattling. As soon as I put the calls down I look up and a small 8p comes running in. He must have been fighting the big boys coz all his tines on his right side are broken off. He did a half circle around me and walked off.

Good luck this morning! I cannot wait until tomorrow to get back in the stand. Work sucks, and I need some hunting therapy.

    Nice shooting Bone and JW!!!

I've heard it said that Grant Woods, from Growingdeer.tv, has shot 25% of his bucks off of dead does he shot earlier....drag her into a shooting lane and let the arrows fly!!!
