Dark to dark tomorrow. One of the best days of the year to be in a stand in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was up at 230am this morning and looking for that buck by 4am. I am worn out, but I just remembered something funny. My Dad is an old Marine and basically a pain in the rear good guy. Tough. He is 77 years old and sometimes he says some wild stuff. I called him after my hunt yesterday and told him how wet and muddy it was....he starts getting worked up and asks, "You are wearing boots when you walk in there right?". HAHA. No Dad, Im wearing socks. haha.
Today was a mental health day. No work ,other than chores. I took a slow stroll around property with no dogs in tow. Farmer was discing his corn stubble. I cleaned trails as I went. Well I had leaf blown the trails a week ago, down to dirt. Wow, there are a few different monsters on the place because the tracks are huge and different. One may have been shot yesterday on nieghbors. Zero doe or fawn seen for days.. Waiting for a cool down to hunt a doe. I may do a bit of squirrel and rabbit hunting.
I know that feeling all too well. Just had one of those days yesterday. No deer after 11 hours on stand is deflating, but I was in today for only 5 hours and saw three doe. Hoping they're still in the area in the morning, maybe some buck bait. I'll be doing a dark to dark.
No deer sighted from the stand this evening. I think that's the first time that's happened this year. I did spook 4 does when I walked into the stand in the early PM Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

Had a good sit tonite, I was in a blind and my son Logman was in a stand about 75 yards behind me. so we had this spot covered pretty well. He said he saw 3 or 4 but no shots. I was sitting there catching up on the LFTS when I look up and there's a small doe 5 yards in front of me, she trotted off but right behind her is this big nanny at 20 yards, Shot her right through the shoulder, broke through fine but no exit. Started out with just small drops of blood but got better as we went, lots of blood towards the end ! She took us through the thickest nastiest stuff on the property, we were on our hands and knees at times. When she finally went down it was only 30 yards downhill to the access road going through the property, which made the drag pretty easy! Thanks to my son Logman for the excellent tracking help!
Coffee is on to wake this buckless hunter. We'll try to change that today. Good luck out there today folks, and be safe!
Drinking coffee and making a plan for this mornings hunt. I'd like to shoot a yearling doe this morning for the smoker. I have a ground blind nuzzled up against a bedding area and a green field that I've been wanting to hunt. That's my destination for today. I'll check back in once I get settled. Good luck out there today. Stay safe!
Took the day off not ideal conditions but still better than working 62 degrees outside right now heading in good luck everyone Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
