Sat 11 hours today and ZERO deer! I'll admit, it is deflating when you sit those hours without a sighting. Holt was spot on regarding my target 8pt. This buck really has no reason to travel through this tight funnel during daylight unless he's after a hot doe. That's what he was doing the ONLY time I saw this buck very briefly on Halloween @ 4:10pm. He was tending two doe at the time. He moves in the darkness like it's nobody's business though. Got another night video of him just this past Sunday.
No deer were killed by me today.....All day sits are the best and also the worst. My body is sore all over but I will try to do it all over again tomorrow
I hear that. I just did back to back all day sits, and I'm whooped! I'll have to sleep in tomorrow morning to make things right with my brain and my body. Back out tomorrow afternoon/evening.
He came in during low light. I saw him at 30 yds and could tell he was a shooter in my world. He came in head on and I drew. He was at like 15 yds and I didn't shoot due to his positioning. He turned and started walking north toward the fields and stopped right before my scent stream would have told him a pair of disgusting smelling boots were lurking in a tree. I thought he was right at 20 yds and could see my sight housing and pin. It was def low light. I shot and it sounded good. He jumped and kicked. He landed and then his left shoulder nearly hit the ground before he ran off through a bunch of sticks. After maybe 5 seconds I didn't hear him anymore. Got down and it was so dark, and the ground was wet and reflecting my light like crazy so I decided to back out. I left all my stuff in the woods so I wouldn't make noise breaking my stand down. I'll be up early. Hope I didn't shoot over his back and hit a tree. That is a potential. LOL
If you heard the tell tale smack, and he dropped his shoulder down after mule kicking… me thinks you killed him good… did you look for the arrow? Luminock? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
