Wish I would have set up in my saddle instead of this hang on… thing is not very comfortable and feel exposed

Never found the buck I shot. Guess the shot will go unsolved. Tough loss.

I’m up for the evening trying a spot out that I’ve always thought should be a spot to kill a good one but never had any luck got some good rubs in front of me and a good thicket in front and to the right I guess we will see what happens good luck everyone

Shot the buck last night at last light. Entrance above the right shoulder exit before his unit. Not full exit the most of the arrow was still in him the. 4 inches and the broad head broke off on the exit. My son and I looked for 2 plus hours and we asked some of the neighbors bordering the property if we could look in their backyards. Everyone was nice and said yes. My son said he found a couple drips on a leaf but he never showed me so I wasn’t sure if it was really blood he saw. We came back and got the dog and looked again, even with the dog he was on the trail but he got off it and just went with him. We looked a little longer but came up with nothing. So we were walking back towards the truck and my son wanted to show me that blood he saw. I went and looked and there were 2 little drops. We just kept following that trail then I heard a deer take off. I told my son **** we jumped him. We took a few more steps and found where he was laying. Took a few more steps and he was laying there. Must have been another deer in there laying near him. My son got his first experience with a gut shot deer as soon as we rolled it over he said have fun with that and walked about 20yds away. He dosent have the stomach for blood or that smell. Not much for blood pics guess I should have take a pic of the gut pile. Dropped off at the butcher, I’ll let him tell me if the meat is still good. It was cold last night. 28 degrees. Thanks for all the congrats.BHOD. Probably celebrate a little tonight and sleep in tomorrow. Good luck out there. I'm up in the stand and the grandson is in the blind. It's his first solo hunt. He begged me for it. I'm confident he's ready!

If it wasn’t for my son I’m sure we would have not found him. Glad we took that last look.
