Deep grunts in the swamp. Only caught his tail. Grunted at him a few times we will see. He was out there 100yds or so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Havent seen a deer yet today. Not sure whats going on at this place. The coyotes are bad but they have been before and never turned it into a ghost town. Im not seeing a lot of fresh sign either which has my confidence in the gutter for this spot.
The buck I think from the morning was on his way to the scrape. I stopped him quartering to at about 10yds almost eye level as he was coming behind me down hill. This is the blood at impact. I did not find my arrow but I didn’t look to hard I just had my flashlight from my phone. The deer tucked tail and ran about 30-40yds and stopped and stood there for 10-15 seconds and slowly went down the hill into the thicket. I’m going to give him the night and the dog and I will check in the morning.
Well, I just had the most fun half an hour … about 6:10 I look to my left towards where I’d be walking out and I see a deer… 70 yards out… it is browsing towards me… appears to be alone .. after about 5 minutes she takes off and 2 others with her… I mature doe a tiny doe and what I think was a button buck. They didn’t wind me so I knew what was probably coming next… crunch crunch crunch and grunting…. If he follows them I would have a 40 yard shot… He did.. I stopped him… not the buck I wanted… so he goes into the bedding area with the girls and they are just running all over the place… eventually the big species in front of me and hooks right and he follows her… no shot on the big doe. Now it’s about 5 minutes of legal light and the tiny one walks 15 yards in front of my cam and the medium bb? Wells 10 yards to my left… I waited for everything to get quiet again and got down Finally some fun in the stand! Here is the tiny doe… if she makes it through winter I’ll be shocked Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

Had to take this pic and write a little something after today. Sent it to my hunting buddies but thought it belonged here too. I am not that spiritual and am not good with words haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sat this Am till 11:00, had a small 5 pt come by at 10 yds, that was it .. Vac. #1 is over .. Vac. #2 in 5 days/next fri. .... hunted 6 out of 9 days, 2 days lost were due to weather, the other yard work ... deer movement was minimal to say the least ... one thing I noticed was lack of deer/buck sightings on my 40+ mile drive to the place. Usually there is more than one 'nice buck' that runs across in front of me, this year zilch .. I heard that the EHD that hit my own county was strong, and hundred's of deer were lost, more than what was reported, this from a CO. ...
6 does and fawns just came out and jumped the drainage at like 70yds. Little one was scared and didn’t go with the group. Walking back and forth grunting trying to find a spot to cross haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks, those annihilator broad heads Fix put me on seem to make up for my shortcomings. Hopefully we will find out if they bailed me out again.
No shots, sat all day today saw over 15 bucks, only shooters stayed out of range. Was wild, tons of chasing and grunting. Had a fun day!
Well I went to the new ridge stand tonight. Wasn't going to but when I was in the truck driving out I checked the cameras and a nice 8 had just been there. So I proceed to sneak in thru the corn. Lots of big hoof prints, so the bucks are definitely in there. I thought I was making a horrible racket, and was about 60yds from my stand when I step into a corn row and there 20 yards away is a doe lol. She was busy eating, turned and looked at me peeking back at her thru the corn and then kept on eating. I backed out a ways and went around downwind, never seen her again or any bucks but It was sure fun! Made me feel really stealthy lol.
I sat today and just watched and listened didn't get a shot but saw deer. Has been 4 years was just nice to take 3-1/2 hours to just sit and watch and check out and it was like meditation.
Had 3 doe come right at last laugh from behind me. I drew back on the Biggest one when she hit my shooting lane but she turned and walked away just as she stepped into the lane. Then she circled to my left at 30 but just to dark at this point to shoot. She then proceeds to figure something is up and starts blowing runs away. I start moving and she blows again. She needs to die. All day sit. No shots fired. Saw at least 12 deer. 3 of those bucks.
