Thank you for all of the congratulations! It was honestly a very slow morning until the last 30 seconds. it was 9:20 and I d coded to put my rattle pack away, as I was doing that I decided to tickle them together for 20-30 seconds. As soon as I got them put away I got snort wheezed at twice, these snort wheezes were less then 30 yards away! As soon as the second one ended I threw out a grunt (my grunt tube is always in my chest pocket so it was very muffled), he grunted back and started thrashing bunches, I still had not seen him. After making 2 to 3 rubs and 2 scrapes I finally saw a tine as he worked his way into 12 yards. I had no idea how big this buck was but knew that I had to be drawn because of the 2 small windows I thought he was going to pass through. I drew as he was making his way into my first opening and stopped him as he came into the second opening. I gave a bleh, he turned and as I said he’s big in my head I squeezed the trigger and the rest is history. He ran about 60-70 yards and crashed in the middle of a crp. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t lose my ****!
Mitch- awesome story. Way to go. Stud deer! I am stuck in a tree on edge of picked cornfield. Deer all over. At least 5 decent bucks. Too dark to tell how big some of them are. I guess I'm going to wait a half hour and then climb down. Grunting and chasing as I write. Fun night. Not looking forward to busting deer out of here. East wind tomorrow, so I'll be a half mile away.
