One of my target 8pts continues to move only in the darkness, so far. He's gotta make a mistake at some point.

While mostly uneventful with the AM hunt. I did just get a big piece of a puzzle I have had going for over a year. Only got 1 daytime pic of my target buck from last year and that was from last year in Dec/jan. I get lots of night pic from 10pm-5am so I knew he was probably bedding on another property. I found his sheds from last year. This year has been the same so I bought 4 more cameras a week ago to put along the fence line (1/2 mile) to where I think he goes during the day and I got him on camera. I already have tree stands about 250yds on both sides of where the pic is from. I’m hoping this is the start of the net closing in on him.

Probably, I was really surpised on the struggle even skinning and quartering. He was packed with fat. The hide was so heavy but the neck roast, it was so heavy I just had to weigh it, 28#'s. I Had to have hubby carry the hams in.

Well I made it back in the woods. All settled. Let's do this.

Snuggled up to a doe bedding area on a downwind side of river crossing.

I wish the deer in Arkansas were big enough to give me those kind of problems.

Plans planned, stands hung, scouting turned up some surprises, both good and bad, but I'm excited about tonight. Hunting over several scrapes and the wind should be good enough. Let's do it. 20284.gif
