A little late but I just got setup. About 12° cooler today than yesterday. More wind though.

I’m up in a tree in Mark Twain National Forest.

First time I’ve been on stand in a week.

I see a lot of posts where people say that’s a good thing, but never heard of it actually working for them

If you are comfortable and have the time then why not just hunt the last 1.5 hrs or so? All it takes is a hot doe.....

    Much better. Thanks for asking.

The joint at the base of my big toe is still really tender but it’s not even an inconvenience

Up for the evening, moved about 175 yards west of where I was last night. Had to come to a preset since emy middle son is with me.

Few acorns dropping but not as much as last night’s spot.

I dunno, maybe it's just coincidence but I've hunted this property for 20yrs and I can't think of one time being here with the picker running that I've ever seen anything. I've heard other guys saying they love being in the stand when they're harvesting. But for me it just hasn't panned out. I'm gonna sit here and hope I'm wrong

My oldest is sitting about 200 yards away in a natural ground blind. He has several piles of fresh poop and three dropping white oaks. First semi-solo hunt. @Jezzy670 is set up within eye sight of him, but far enough away that Easton has to make his own decisions.

There were two bucks dogging a doe along the lakeshore there when we first walked in. I stalked in to about 60 yards before the wind swirled and ended that game.

Just curious. When you had those opportunities, did the deer come out of the field being harvested or were they just moving through the timber?
