Deer piling out of the bedding behind me. Came out to my east couldn’t see what they were but I had just enough of a west wind for them to catch my scent. Blew twice but didn’t storm out. That buck was to my southwest (upwind). Hope he didn’t circle and get my scent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Shot a doe at last light. Going to give her 3 hours. I already had the day off. Going to hunt am and pm tomorrow. There were 20+ deer within 200 yards of me at dusk. This doe just kept getting closer. Eventually have me an 18 yard shot - broadside. It seemed like the gentlest way to scattered the deer without giving up my position. 5 bucks - biggest was 2.5 8 point.
Had a good one come in. No shot. Back at it tomorrow Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I watched her run 60 yards. It was last light. I didn't check out much, just first blood. I have tomorrow off...so I am not in a hurry. It could be an hour track...could be a 5 minute track. I talked to the landowner where she ran and we are meeting at 10pm, about 3 hours after the shot. I'll post what I find. Good luck English mna!
Mentioned the other day bucks should start moving soon… cameras going crazy tonight. This is the buck I saw earlier… I saw just the beams. It’s the buck that showed in daylight 2-3 days ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It ended up being a great shot. Double lung, right above the heart. What threw me for a loop was some corn at impact. My arrow sliced the esophagus, which was full of corn. She went less than 100 yards. The neighbor let me look for her. Great conversations. People, in general, are good and kind. He likes shooting 4 year old bucks. Bonus.
