Yep, I've gotten about four different bucks hitting the same scrape that's in front of my cam, including a third decent 8pt. All have been night pics though. Need some daytime movement. Should be soon!

Ive been down at uncles farm getting stands ready for gun season. I tried to catch up congrats to those who killed and recovered. For those that didnt, shake it off and get back on the horse. More opportunity awaits

As it turns out yes, she was. I’m pretty sure she smelled the deer because at that point she had left the blood trail.

Edit: I remembered to check OnX. Elly May was only 70 yards from him when I dragged her off.

I feel like such a jerk.

I really thought I posted a pic but I guess it didn’t go through because of the weak signal.

About 27 hours after the shot and this is how I found him:

Glad you found the deer LC, nice to have that closure.

I had 3 take downs, only managed to hook one of them. 14 lb Steelhead. Catch and release where I was at. Didn’t even get a pic, while trying to do that with one hand the hook came out and away he went.

At least one decent buck is already on the island. I may have jumped him off his bed. They tightened down access to the place and I didn't see a single sign of another hunter. Some of these islands I'm gonna spend 2 straight days hunting. Hunt. Camp. Hunt. Repeat.

I appreciate that Chris. The reality of it is that I kind of suck at it.

Sometimes we don't know how good they are. We always want them to follow as we would, the blood trail. Sounds like Elly May is a much better dog than we all know. So glad you were able to put and ending to this deer. Good on you, for the extra effort. Well done!

So there is a reason I'm posting this here.
4 1/ 2 hours later...I have a cleaned and conditioned inside car. Armor all'd, windex'd, 409'd. Vac scrubbed condition. No more turds and a wonderful chemical smell...lol,well until I start her up and vents start working. She is headed down to mechanic to get vents clean and checked then snow tires put on.
After I'm ready to hit camp a few times. I can hardly wait...for another 3-4 hour drag up hill ...hahahaha
