Ok packing up. Will check the garden blind cam
Bet..... I was going to hunt there because I've had turkey on clover l opted for gypsy because I thought they'd roost near the cut corn. This is one of their roost areas. Only thing roosted over me was a Goshawk. So how much on the cam Showing turkey and deer?

It’s going to take us about a half hour to walk down there so we will leave around 8:45.

I shot him at 8:30 yesterday so it’ll be over 24 hours and the temp got up to over 70 yesterday.

If I do find him it will be an antler/head recovery only.

Maybe buzzards will help me find him. We don’t have a lot of coyotes here.

Listen for Blue Jay's and Crows also.

Many times they will give away a carcass location.

    Good luck.

Going to be 80 today. I scouted a big island this past off season. Will use a half day to scout the southern part of it again to see if buck sign has popped up. Only way for me to find out about these new places is to constantly scout and see how they progress through season. Need to find and stack quality spots.

Maybe you’ll bring in one of the those northside cougars that @dnoodles was talking about.

Nothing but a button buck over here. Beautiful morning, but it’s warming up way too fast

Whenever the sunlight starts htting rhe canopy floor. It can vary depending on altitude and steepness of terrain. I would think by 9:30 you should be good where you are at, probably earlier.

Lot of that might depend on when he actually died. If he lived 12 hours after the shot it might have cooled down enough. Just really won’t know until you find him. Good luck this morning

about that time- good luck, @LittleChief
if he died in water or many hours later in the shade or dark he may still be cool enough to salvage backstraps at least

Cam had a 2a.m. 4pt checking mock scrape and eating clover then one raccoon. Day light one crow grubbing and one squirrel. The walk out showed a bunch of turkey scratchings.
Won't be back out until the morning. Promised hubby deer strap on the grill and hubbard squash. Plus need to clean the mouse/ chipper crap out of car before taking it down to have machanic remove nests from heater and vents. You know so my defrost doesn't start a fire. The enire car is a stinking mess!!!!! It's not just mice, chipmunks. The dang thing will go directly to the scrap yard.
I wonder if getting an undercoating on next vehical would help. This is the only car I've had that has had this problem.
