The THP guys had a mountain lion on cam (live, while they were hunting) in either Nebraska or MO a couple years back.
We get one every couple years around here in Northern IL. They had one on the northside of Chicago a few years back. (The rare 4 legged kind of cougar. The northside is famous for the 2-legged variety.)

Been out in blind drinking coffee and waiting, not a single animal in cut field. SE breeze and raining buckets of leaves after past 2 frost
I pushed a deer off the garden plot on way in, But it did ot send out any alarms. Leaf fall and waking squirrels have me on full alert
    Good Luck

Beautiful morning. Seen a few deer on the drive here. Nothing moving so far. The best thing on my camera pull. One cow got loose. F1EC29BE-CD19-4508-B4EE-B6F40276454A.jpeg FC4E7FB0-5B4F-4466-8FAA-737C54B138C5.jpeg

No hunting for me this weekend.
We; my sister, bil, and GF Holly, and I made it out to the river for a little bit yesterday. Unfortunately I was the only one who landed a fish...little male at that.

Let's see some more blood today.

Question for anyone who hunts hills:

It’s 39 degrees here now. The sun rose at 7:15 and the skies are clear.

What time should the thermals begin to rise up out of the valleys? 9:00 or 9:30?

I need that to be happening when I take Elly May down to track.

Again depends on tree cover. When the sun can get through tree tops to warm things up. Remember what I say, the sun chases the cold ahead of it. It always gets colder just as the sun starts climbing above horizon. I went from 42 to now 39

Once the sun is up to the canopy, I’d say by 9-9:30 you should be good
