First time I have seen you using something mobile! Getting aggressive? Aggressive is good! Good luck and make something happen!

I do not normally see rubs here this early. It is usually toward first week of Nov. Then they tear things up. With as many sets I have here the climbers have not been needed. Then I went to the saddle, but can no longer risk that with my arthritis and Dupuytren’s.

I have never let farming discourage me. I have watched fields end their harvesting an hour before prime time and here they come like the farmers were never there. Go hunt where your confident steers you and don’t worry about the combines.

I see deer usually hit fresh cut corn fields. If had a setup on it I would maybe suggest that. Hit the side closer to bedding

I have buddies that actually carry their bows in the combine with them because deer don’t care they are there

Go in the morning. Have the confidence not to fall into the scarcity mindset.

All settled. This should be a good sit.

    My view from the blind.

    But you found them.

Are they worth hunting? Are they just random in open areas or leading into thick home territory?

Random rubs could just give you false presence of a buck. Being aggressive means setting up before they figure out you’re invading their territory. But this type of hunting is usually a lot more successful than sitting in yearly stand placements just waiting for them to come to you.

This is not going to work. Got the pallet in there and laid it across the thinnest part. Stepped on it and went to my thighs in water.

Maybe screw a few together or get a short ladder in there. I’m committed to not disturbing the areas around there and do not want to walk through the property.

Took advantage of 25+ MPH winds and creeped the edge of the willows. Absolutely tore up.

2 young eagles were in the huge cottonwood right next to my stand. I was making a decent ruckus with that pallet in water, whistled at it, etc. didn’t move… very odd.

Lol I have well over 48 sets of different kinds.I can't sit them all. I set them to play the winds..
These are cluster rubs. That has proven to be multiple buck coming to an area to rub. Usually they will spar as well. This doesn't happen every year on us, but I've seen it on neighboring lands and down at camp. Also happens when there are a couple of big boys roaming the area. Thick thick field edge along our wood line

Funny you say that, the doe I shot on Tuesday morning just flat out stunk like a rutted up buck.

Wearing my hearing aids is a game changer in the stand. I have always been making excuses not to wear them. But I am hearing things I haven’t heard in many years
