Just had a pretty cool encounter. Had a doe walk in front of me, I ranged her at 46yds. She stopped right in a clearing and I thought about releasing the hounds but she kept looking behind her. In about 30 seconds a small buck is coming from the same direction. He veers off and stops in front of me at 12yds. Small 6 no brows. I let him pass but it got my blood circulating!

The Can call might have brought him closer. I've had it work a couple times in the past.

By the time I got the pic about half an hour had elapsed. I'm sure he was gone by then.

Been on stand since 50 minutes before daylight.

What a sucky morning. First, the zipper on my Scentlok suit busted and won’t stay zipped. Then l went out to get on the bike and my front tire was flat. All of my gear was in the tree so I aired the tire up and went anyway. I’m hoping it has enough air in it when I get down to get me home. If not I have a long walk to get an air pump.

45 minutes ago does came in. The huge lead doe came in quartering to me. I was at full draw and she stopped at 13 yards, still quartering to. I hesitated because of the angle. She looked up and was gone in an instant.

I should have shot. I know that no doe shoulder blade is going to stop my arrow, but I didn’t.

Oh, and I grabbed the wrong ball cap when I walked out. I put on my sweaty, smelly mesh back work cap.

Remember ever time you pass a deer up your passing this up. Grilling at 9am. Good luck out there. 86D9FA3A-B26E-4239-ABC8-0E1A2C8E4122.jpeg 17F09B2E-B0FD-4E64-B435-9F436A6D414C.jpeg

On another note, while this is a good spot I need a better tree or the sticks and lock-on.

I wondered where you were this morning. At least you're seeing them. Didn't you have trouble with that zipper earlier this year?

A second hunter just pulled into neighbor. They went to work. 4-5 guys hunting 21 acres....sa dwiched between our properties

I'm about to tap out before .my back seizes up. Besides sun is blinding me. Steam is rolling off the blind, lol, look like a giant steam pot. Fun morning, will, if wind is good try this afternoon here. Or old reliable...unless I get the climber set. Wind dependent. Luck guys

39* when I took the kids to school this morning. Intentionally dressed in just shorts and a t-shirt, since that is approved work attire for me. After this endless summer, I have to force my body to be ready for this colder mornings. The WMAs that I hunt are all closed due to permit only muzzleloader hunts, so I am going to make it a family weekend. Probably take my older boys to the gun range this weekend to practice for the upcoming youth rifle hunt.

So I figured I would hunt a couple hours before work this morning as it was supposed to be in the 20s. Well, it was in the 30s and the leaves were just white so it was super quiet.

I figured I would till 830 but 8:15 came and I had seen anything and there was a full moon site. There’s nothing gonna move now. So I lowered my compound and climb down.

As I’m taking my PSE off the string and start to walk, I see a Whitetail and a big rack beyond its ears about 60 to 70 hours away running away from me. My guess is he watched me climb down the stand. What do you think the chances of him coming back anytime soon are?

That’s the first time in all my years of hunting that’s ever happened to me. I always stay till the time. I tell myself I will stay too, and if I would’ve done that, I would’ve had a slam dunk shot.
