I saw one small buck headed to stNding corn this evening then had another couote come right under me. I ripped off a shot but it was moving too fast. Gave it a haircut. I have a lot of standing corn both where i hunted yesterday and today. I heard the combines in the distance all around me so wont be long. Ive got 2 long days of work then heading to property this weekend to get things squared away for gun season. For those grinding tomorrow and through the weekend Good Luck! I have a feeling there will be a LOT of blood spilled on this thread soon
Didn’t see anything tonight but as I said the temps are going to be 35 tomorrow morning. Getty up I’ll be out in the morning. LC just pull the trigger will you plz.
couple more days of cool weather then back up into the upper 60s/low 70s for the Great Lakes...think it's gonna lull a bit here this weekend but then take off like a rocket middle of next week. Any day in the tree is a good day, but these are the October days to be in the woods, amigos.
Tried to go to bed, but I'm wired for sound. I wanna thank you all for the kind words and congrats. I've had a rough couple months and this was just what I needed. I told myself I'd give that buck a pass earlier this season, but he just came in too close to a hungry guy. Been out of meat for some time! I still think another buck is up there. Anywho, I head to MO in 10 days, and I'll be out for some doe action before that tho. Sorry, Todd, no blood pics. He fell within sight and I didn't really think of it. I've been slacking on LFTS etiquette this year
Cherry on top of taking an awesome buck is you get to head to another state for another. Hot and super windy tomorrow. I’m creating my access to my rut stand. Should have done it a long time ago but life. Very wet spring filled the drainage I always use… ton of water in it even though it was almost the driest September on record. We haven’t had a rain in so long. Taking a pallet in around 12-1pm and gunna lay a path through the canary grass a few times to make a path and then lay it in the drainage so I can get across. Something like this. We will see how it goes. I’m sure I get to the drainage and find out I need more than one pallet or some crazy thing. Haven’t been to this stand/haven’t stepped in here since spring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You've got to hold out at least thru the first week of November. You should have daylight pictures of the mature bucks by then.
