If you have the time, then hunt! Dont worry about the other stuff. Can only shoot them when they are there. Also be prepared to move on the fly, cant predict the wind either. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I say be agressive and get after them early on, it’s nice to stack as much in your favor. But early season I like to get after them while they’re still somewhat patterning. Bed to food in evening, good luck I hope you stick a big one! You getting any day light pics of them? Maybe move some cams tighter into and around bedding and see where they move b4 dark.
I went and set a couple of stands today and did prep on two other sites. I don't have a hunting partner anymore, he moved away, so it was all solo for me. Kinda tough on an old man. Anyway, I pulled the card out of the only non cell camera I have out and this guy was there. Sorry about the way the pic is but there was so much background glare I had to crop the photo a bit. That’s a big one ! I hope you shoot him, if I lived by I’d definitely give you a hand with your setups.
Here's another pic from the same day but it was on a different camera about 5 hours earlier. The buck on the right is a different deer but I think the buck on the left is the same buck I posted in the other post. The brow tines are what makes me think that Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
It's the smallest 40 acre fully wooded plot you probably could ever hunt. 6 cams pretty much cover every travel route and food plot. The don't really have a dedicated bedding area on the property. Been hunting it for 11 years now and while there is a definite late summer/early fall pattern, once the bach groups break up it's a complete crap shoot on daylight movement until the rut hits, and with no dedicated bedding areas, even that's no gimme. We haven't shot a buck off the property since Nov 2020. I'll be hunting WI hard early, then probably not much until second week of November. I'll be in Michigan Oct 24 - Nov 4 with my old man. First time he's hunted in almost 10 years. I'm so happy I could cry, except that'd be
Plot is starting to green up, of course right after we planted there wasn’t rain for 5 days, luckily the soil was wet from the rain the night before so hoping it will take off
