I was wondering the same thing, especially if you're by yourself.

Two hours and lots of blood, sweat and almost tears.
I've wanted to put a stand in that tree since I was a kid but never could figure out a way to do it.

I hooked 2-3 straps together and threw them around as far as I could, then got back down and used a 10ft tall pole to push the straps up and hold them where they needed to be while maintaining tension on the end. It was sketchy but I had my harness on.

Would have been much easier and made more sense to use a buddy ladder stand or something

Hang in there buddy. I have a feeling you will get to relieve some stress with an arrow through a giant bucks lungs in the near future. Haha i just thought about cracking a fortune cookie open and reading that. At least you got to put a nice doe down last night. Straps for the grill

I used an extending boat hook to catch the strap .

I’m up, sitting a different spot on the new prop. Down at a creek crossing, had a good buck down here this am, hopefully he’s close. Heavy cover around me. Good luck everyone that’s out!

Yeah. I'm not sure what's happening to me. Stress may be helping it along. Lol

I was undecided on whether to post this on here.

We had a good frost here last night. The tree canopy was frosted and there was quite a bit on the leaves. I heard deer moving all around in the dark. Once it warmed up and the frost melted the leaves were damp and the melting frost from the canopy sounded like rain. I could no longer hear them and this place was thick. 20 yards was my longest shot, but I was sitting 7 yards off the road.

After I posted on here about the dog running deer I posted in my team group chat that I might as well get down because of the dog. I was frustrated so I slipped my phone in my pocket and sat down abruptly without looking around.

That’s when the big bodied buck that was in the road 25 yards away (and me totally oblivious to his presence) saw me and bolted into the woods sounding like horse hooves thudding on the ground. I never got a good look at his headgear but he was big.

There was a White Oak limb obstructing my view in that particular spot. Needless to say I was pretty pissed off at myself for doing something so stupid.

Fifteen minutes after that I saw the back end of a deer sneaking through the thick cover on the other side of the road. That was it for that sit.

When I got down I moved my climber to a brand new spot I’ve been eyeing. While in was getting the tree ready a doe started blowing at my E-bike parked about 100 yards away.

This new spot is much closer to the house and away from the ridge tops, so if I get a chance at a doe this evening I might take it.

That's ironic. Just last week, I had a Cooper's hawk come gliding through the trees and land on the top branch of my natural ground blind. He was only 3 feet from me! I looked at him as he looked at me, then he flew off.

You know though that pisses me off when trucks have crap flying off their trailers and bumpers. Sweep that **** off at least. Never fails. Every time i get a new windshield something flies off from a truck and cracks or chips it.
