    my inner autist is crying out in pain

    not on the shot/impact on the animal, but I used to completely space out on where the animal was standing at the POI in relation to my stand. I used to be off by 10 yards sometimes. I have gotten better (from suggestions on this forum, no less) at picking a landmark at the moment of truth.

    I heard deer moving all the way up to first light but nothing came close.

    Now someone’s hound is running deer all around the ridge I’m on. He’s made a complete circle and he’s west of me bawlimg.

    I was kind of hoping he would bump something to me but nothing.

    As I was paddling out last night, I was checking my deer in.
    So I had to sit in the middle of the water so I was able to hear what sounded like lone deer moving. Man what a scouting tool to try and figure out where a buck beds and when they move relative to sundown.
