Got my son up In a treestand for the first time last night. Only 8 feet off the ground, but he will work on getting higher. He went 22 for 25 on shots in the heart/lungs at 16 yards. I make him practice out to 30, but I am going to limit his hunting range to 20 or less until he gets a couple killed with the bow.

I hate yellow jackets .. was nailed by two last week when I went over an unseen nest while mowing, nuked that nest with a whole can of spray, were dozens in it .. .... got my left leg behind on the calf good .... been nailed by multiples a few times when squirrel hunting and walked into an unseen nest .. they bite, hang on and just keep stinging, they dont lose their stinger like a honey bee does .... hate 'em !!

Pulled 2 cameras today. One camera I had a little higher up on the tree because I thought the deer were crossing higher up, nope right under the camera so I got a bunch of back pics. Guess I should be happy I still have my camera. The second camera did not take any pics. Quick picture of a newt while I was out. 0A4C9D44-0B42-4A55-8AE8-6C35AFC04993.jpeg A1E5051A-185D-45FE-8411-3851D4A710ED.jpeg

The bug has bitten hard. I moved some cameras out of the 6ft weeds yesterday. Saw some great deer sign. Not sure how my season will play out though with surgeries and whatnot. I didnt sign up for the contest first time since 2015 think because im not sure how much ill be able to hunt. The doctors are taking forever. 2 appointments pushed out to end of august and thats just to discuss scheduling surgeries . Oh well though i just cant wait to feel better again.

    bros...

The one in the back, I think is the same giant I posted a couple days back.
Short brows on the first one and narrow spread probably keep him in the 150s but still...this year is insane. Haven't had this quality+quantity since 2013. There are about 5 legit 150+ on the regular, one 170+, and this short brow maybe 160?... I know he's still in velvet but his bases are huge.

Seems I'm in the opposite camp, buddy. Nada on cams. I love that feeling of having some bruisers running around. You're in for a great year!

He is. He has killed three does with a rifle over the past four years. This year, he is determined to get his first with a bow and his first buck.

Opening weekend is full moon. I'm worried that's going to F up their summer daytime patterns and by the time that passes they'll be on their fall routine, which means far away from our 40 until the rut.
