We are getting close to the full moon. If you schedule gives you the flexibility with this cold front, sit midday. Cell cam had a litte fork buck on it at 9:57 am. Daylight Movement will shift to the 10a - 2p time frame the next few days.

I’m back at the house. I moved my climber almost a quarter of a mile east on the road to a spot with a cluster of four scrapes.

I’ll give that spot a couple of sits this evening / tomorrow morning and see what happens.

I’m not sure what to think about this new place. EVERYWHERE I go on the ridges it’s tore up with scrapes and rubs. I believe you could hang a stand anywhere on the ridge top and have deer show up.

I’ll have more stand locations available when my son gets here with the LW Assault and the sticks.

While I know you’re right, I just can’t bring myself to skip the first two hours, so if I hunt mid-day I sit from an hour before daylight until 2:00.

I still think it’s a bit early here for the big boys to show themselves mid-day.

The LW Assault with sticks is an awesome combination! Very lightweight, quiet, and secure. I used to have one as a back-up for my Sit and Climb. Since I stopped hunting from trees, I gave it to a young hunter just getting started.

Im not too thrilled about these 28 mph winds. Grabbed some pizza from caseys and did a little cruise. I have a plan A and B. No C thru Z yet. Im confident i can get on a deer this evening, but this place is so huge and i kind of want to go somewhere i haven't been before. Hmm

I've been dealing with some stuff that has been crushing my energy and motivation. What I probably need most is sitting in the woods but it's very hard to get there. We have fifteen mile an hour winds so i'm going to get very aggressive and get in tight to bedding.

Im up for the evening. Sitting the area I shot that buck a month ago. Still tore up with tracks. All sizes, doe and buck.

    Good luck all!

And VS, you need to just shoot a deer, all worries will melt away for awhile.

Lie, lies no rain but the winds are way stronger than they said. I froze in blind this morning with much less winds. Just not feeling it.

    Good Luck guys

I agree. Although I do believe they’ll get up and stretch their legs during mid day right now I don’t think they’re moving from bedding area to bedding area.

But that time is getting closer and closer!

25* and North 4mph winds tonight, and I finally have off. I think tonight is the night. Have a wide short tined 10pt. Living around the house, it's time to make him into snack sticks.

I got in ultra clean and this set up feels great. Need this wind to stay north to west. Big open scrape at 20 yds. 1000020847.jpg

Feels great to be back in a tree. On the walk in had a small 8pt and 6pt feeding under stand. They finally walked off. Just got set up..
