OK guys we are getting many in the first miss club. So its now Mid Oct and time to settle pins, nerves and mishaps. Time to fill freezers and dreams starting in the morning, knock em down all.
14 hr workday kicked my butt after little sleep. Im off next 2 days. Ill be up early to head to some public in Southern Illinois. Time to start thinking about starting to start to get thinking about getting serious.
That was a first for this early in the year. A half hour before dark I rattled moderately. I followed that up with a couple of grunts from my young buck grunt tube. I was still putting the tube back in my pack when I heard him coming at a full run. He came up the hill on the other side of the grass field, across the grass field and he stopped at the wood edge 25 yards away and stood there looking. I almost killed him then, and if I’d been in Arkansas or in Mark Twain National Forest I would have, but I remembered @Suncrest08 telling me yesterday in a PM that I should hold off on smaller bucks here. He walked straight to me, sniffed the base of my tree and then walked on by. Walking away he gave me a beautiful quartering away shot and I really kinda wanted to light him up but I’m sure there are better bucks on this place. That was just really fun.
I had a crazy sit, I saw 12 bucks and over 30 deer. Almost shot a big 10, this is a spot I just got permission on this year. First time I hunted it, I’m all fired up. Gonna be a fun couple weeks leading up to the rut!!
You’re gonna shoot a good one!! That prop seems absolutely stacked! But dont let my dumb ass get in the way of you killing deer lol
Bummer to hear about the missed shots. Get back out and try again! I'm trying to count to 5 before I shoot a deer...help to settle me and my pin. Even put orange tape so I can read it at full draw. Had another decent 10 show up. This one seems younger. From pic, I think he needs another year.
Had a baby buck come into about 8 yards this evening. Awesome encounter! Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Supposed to rain in a.m. should I sit the pinch point from my encounter this evening or should I sit the community scrape Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh trust me, I’ll kill deer. Im sure this place is absolutely loaded with bucks that size. While I’m waiting for a bigger one I’ll try to shoot does, but only on morning sits. Does will get a pass on evening sits here.
He hung around for a while at 15 yards eating. He's a youngin. Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
