Well, at least there is good news. Could have been worse. I know good MI public land bucks are hard to come by sometimes. Hopefully you'll get another shot at him
On the State Park land I hunt, you'd have a snowball's chance in hell of getting a mature buck into range with a regular ground blind. Hence my natural ground blind. I've had several doe within easy range, but I'm only after one of two good bucks in the area.
What a **** show of a morning!! Doe comes out at 28yds and I miss. 45 min later 6 does and a spike come in and a doe gives me a 18yds broadside and I missed again. WTF!!! All this by 8am. I have the IQ sight (which I love, had it about 7 years) and the dot was right in the middle and a nice green circle. I’m done for the day. Going home and going to try and figure this out. Hopefully be back out for Tuesday/wed all day.
I went ahead and climbed down to move my stand. I found a good sized white oak to climb in the woods on the other side of the grass field. Not only are the woods somewhat open offering me shots in the timber but there are two scrapes. One is 10 yards away and the other is right at the base of the tree. I’d pick another tree if there was one close that didn’t require cutting a ton of limbs. I really think it’s just a matter of time.
From the bottom of my ribcage to my moob. I can now tell that pectoral muscle hidden under adipose tissue, is also bruised. Lone wolf sticks, precision crafted of lightweight aluminum for providing a good lightweight to durability ratio. Foot pegs feature sturdy bidirectional deployment, equipped with searations, suitable for reliable footing even with wet or muddy boots. Not recommended for emergency deceleration (this feature is quite effective, but highly uncomfortable, 1/10 do not recommend this feature).
Dude…. Ive had a few occurrences like that and on the last one ….man if i had a lump of coal in my butt it would have made a diamond. I shook for about 10 min after i was secured back in my stand. So glad you are ok that could have been devastating
Broad heads are the problem. 1st pic is field tips and 2nd pic is broad head both using the same arrow. Repeated field tip then broad head on the same arrow and getting same results. Getting new/different broad heads today
So I waisted a crockpot recipe, still misting but way clearer. The wind though, has ramped up big time. I'm not going out if we are still getting moisture with swirling gusts. I see tomorrow morning has , low winds and no rain. It will rain over night in the mean time. The wasted recipe, one hubby can just dish out for himself, 9 stuffed bell peppers and brussel sprouts as a side. Idid get a bunch done today to free up time. Carrots, beans, eggplant, pickled banana pepper slices and another 168 poppers in the freezer. Then laundry, ironing, general picking things up. Good Luck Guys
someone was on this thread a couple weeks back talking about looking for a LW hand climber- selling one: https://forums.bowhunting.com/threads/lone-wolf-hand-climber-ii.102107/
^ that's exactly how my bow shoots Magnus Black Hornets. Only head it shoots that way, too. Can't figure it out, bummer b/c I really like the look and reputation but if they don't shoot, they don't shoot.
I'm sure someone with way more technical expertise will correct me if I'm way off like your broadhead, but why not try a broadhead tune moving your rest to iron it out?
