I'm all set up waiting for the sun. Windy, chilly and swirling. I have a deer under me.

Honestly, if you're going to go with a single ladder stick, I would buy several, since they are fairly cheap, and create several presets. Then I would buy a single XOP stand and just move it around as needed. XOP makes some very lightweight stands and their price point is so much better than, say a lone wolf or beast stand. I own two XOP stands and they are so easy to pack and hang because of their lightweight.

That sounds like the best option. I failed to mention that I can ride my bike to any stand location on this place and I have the cart/trailer for it so there is no need for me to be light and mobile.

I like to use hang on stand with the hawk helium sticks cause I can leave the lock on, pull the sticks and go to a different lock on . So one set of sticks and several lock ons get you hunting lots of places. Plus I don't mind leaving a lock on in public land if there is no way to get to it without some serious effort.

I have two of the Vanish Evolution stands. Those things are great! I also have the brackets you can hang and then just slip the stand into. Those things make an easy job even easier. Easy to carry, easy to hang and alot of features for the price.

LC, if those pines have big enough limbs, you can just use the limbs as "sticks". With 3 to 4 sticks you could get well over 20 feet no problem.

If you go this route I forgot to mention that XOP also makes a bracket that you hang in the tree and leave and then you just slide the stand in or out of the bracket. It makes putting up the stand a breeze.

So far just squirrels and a beautiful morning. I'm probably shifting locations after this hunt. No clue what the deer was earlier. I'm at a funnel over a ditch, so probably a buck.

Up at one at let a dog out, rain, cold howling winds. Got up this morning same. Now less wind and lighter rain still cold. No break in site

Last night at just before dark. Big 8 and a rowdy single doe out in field. Tail up a off to side but being a tease...lol

This is a new one for me. We are one month into the season, and I've seen a grand total of one deer, a doe.

Shake it man, don’t need to see a ton of deer just the right one. I know it can get frustrating! In Ohio for years I would sit dark to dark and never see deer, but when I did it was typically a big buck. Keep grinding and lock it up between the ears, you got this!

Missed a big buck this AM. Thought he was 30 he was 35. Shot right under him.

Real high wide heavy 8pt w real short tines. Doubt he'd go over 120 but he was 4.5yo
