Sorry I haven't been too active y'all. Truth be told, I'm going through a bout of depression for the past 6 months or so. On top of that, my wife and I are a month into a new lifestyle as empty nesters with our son in Tennessee. She has become so damn clingy! It's thrown me for a loop because for the past 18 years, she was always the complete opposite, making my life much easier. Now, we are trying to figure out, A. do we even know each other anymore? B. Do we even like/love each other anymore? C. Do we want to continue and build a new life together? Hunting has been in my mind, but first things first. I felt the cold air last night out walking the dog, the smells, and felt the primal desire screaming at me to get in the woods. I also had a dream I was hunting last night, so the time is drawing near for me! I'll be in the woods within the next few weeks. Who knows, maybe by staying out of the woods until the good stuff, it will actually benefit me?!!
Pretty slow here today. Gonna give it another 30 minutes and call it. Joe, someone said bnb is taking a break. No one's heard from Clint.
Can't like that because it's sad. I hope you guys work it out after investing so many years together. Though I understand, my running joke is hubby must stay working because... I'm not ready for prison yet...lol am I joking ? Hhhmmmm....
Its going to be 90 degrees tomorrow. I am so tired of this heat. I can't wait until this mini cold front hit on Monday afternoon.
Forgot to tell you all. I met another hunter last night and we ended up deciding he would take that dog to a shelter. The dog was still there at dark. Second part of that is the guy showed me pics and told me stories about some of the monsters he has killed out there and seen this year. He had been hunting out there for 25 years. He was trying to figure out where I was hunting and also trying to lead me away from wherever he had been hunting. It was funny bc once he pulled out his phone and showed me where he had been hunting with his app, I knew he was lying to me about where he had been actually hunting. I bet he is on to a huge buck. LOL. No big buck hunter on public land is going to give a person all that info. Mind games from people make me laugh.
Totally normal questions to ask from my friends and family that are a decade or so ahead of me in life and facing the empty nest years. Work through it, it is a new season in life to rediscover yourselves after years devoting your lives to raising kids and growing careers. I suggest finding a goal that you are both willing to work on together, something fun. Maybe plan a big trip that you could not take earlier in life, something that excites both of you. Get away from the pressures of life and focus on each other.
I'm out. The does were feeding in the field when I came out of the thicket they were directly down wind. How do they know?
It’s going to be in the high 80’s over the weekend. I believe I’m going to take this afternoon, tomorrow and Sunday morning off. I could use a break and my butt and lower back are sore from the beating I’m taking riding the bike in the rocky hills. Last night’s wreck didn’t help. Sunday it’s going to drop from the 80’s to a low of 47, so I’ll probably hunt Sunday afternoon in the warm temps so my gear will be in a tree Monday morning. I’m not a huge fan of hunting the full moon but the temps will be right and the time is getting close.
Or maybe he was telling you the truth in hopes you thought he was lying to actually divert you from the spot he is hunting…..
I hope you can sort through everything in your life, sometimes it’s good to slow it all down. Sending prayers your way for clarity.
I’m back at home saw 4 small bucks together on the way out I stopped and watched them walk off the were playing and having a good time they were all small the biggest was probably a 6 pointer Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
About 0900 I had a spike and a high racked 6 per come in about 45-50 yards out. Both not legal. I’m at home chowing down on lunch
Public land mental warfare, this guy tried telling me in Ohio last fall that the only reason he hunted that area was bc of sentimental value from his dad and doesn’t really see that many good deer. His name was Josh. Meet another guy later on and he’s buddys with Josh and says Josh kills giants all the time there lol. People are goofy!
I’ll probably do a lot of scouting tomorrow and Sunday. I’ve only looked at a fraction of the new place so far.
