This is the first hunting season where I didn't purchase a single thing prior to the season. Heck with it, today I am going to buy a kayak that is half the weight of my current kayak. Won't drain me as much each hunt. I am going after that buck.

I made a mock scrape before I left this morning. Little over an hour later I had a doe come into it.

Did you ever find out from the land owner if he's given hunting permission to somebody else?

Im done with work, time to go hunting! Going to be a scout day, then setup in sign. Looking for a specific buck this time. Not even sure he is around yet this year. Should be 4.5 - 5.5 buck. But his rack stands out. I will know when i find him, hes a jumbo.

Well this is a first. Got to my hunting spot and as I was loading my stuff up this guy shows up. He was so thirsty and wanted to rest. LOL

    Hahahah what the hell :lmao2:

Thats a good looking pitty mix, hate his/her collar tho!
Reminds me of one time I was working up my camp and the door was open, I heard what sounded like a doe walking on the floor and turn around and there is a beagle just hanging out in the kitchen lol. He was real cool, gave em some water and then he rolled out haha.

He had a tight collar on his neck. I took a knife to it and gave him water.

    Which road scrape line?

There are a lot of roads and they all have scrapes somewhere. There are a lot of small grassy openings and almost all of them have scrapes.

I guess I could put a camera on a couple of the scrapes and see what happens.

I have the best luck with cams on scrapes at the intersections of the logging roads.

My wife and I just spent the last two and a half hours walking with the new neighbor, his girlfriend, his daughter and his ex-wife. Weird, I know, but Larry is the guy who bought the 230 acres west of me and his ex-wife bought the 14 acres north of my place across the road. Even weirder. Oh well.

They wanted me to use my GPS to help identify property corners.

In the process I finally got to set foot on the new 14 acres I can hunt, and I what I found got me excited. I found a heck of a trail that the bucks I have on camera are using. I also found some really well used scrapes on that trail next to the small pond that is there.

I’m going to stay out of there until later in the month and then I’ll attack it.

Got back home, got a shower and now I’m tired enough that I don’t really want to go out and hunt. Oh, I’m gonna go, but I’m not sure I want to.

I don’t know how to stop, even temporarily, especially with all of this new territory to explore.
