They read the script and I knew their pattern. Just need a different mature doe or buck to follow suit.
Bucksnbears was/is/ taking a break, unless he isn’t coming back. He is a regular on iowawhitetail.com forum.
I’m back at the house. I got down at 9:00, pulled that climber and moved it to the spot I’ve been wanting to hunt. I don’t like having to climb a hickory, especially since there are a ton of limbs I’ll have to cut, but this is the best looking spot I’ve found so far. I just had to wait for the wind to shift a bit. It’s been out of the north but this afternoon it’s supposed to be out of the east, which is better. A southeast wind would be ideal. It’s supposed to be “light and variable”. I’ve always said that means my scent is going to “vary” to the nose of the nearest deer. Anyway, this tree will put me in bow range of four scrapes on the edge of a nice little grassy opening. I’m kind of excited.
We got a very light frost last night, a lot of blk. folage in the garden. Looks like freeze in a day or so. I hope I start seeing so e movement. I may have to hit camp
That's my very favorite time to be in the woods! I love hearing them moving around in the dark. I just don't enjoy having to wake up sooo early to get in an hour before first light. That's the right way to do it though.
I have had several pictures in the last hour of young bucks hitting the scrapes I have cams on. Good luck out there to the pm hunters.
All set, I’m in the only pod of white oaks and they are raining down. Good luck everyone out tonight!
