I feel the same about December. Only difference is the temps and which deer have survived the onslaught of the season so far. To me its a good mix of intense spurts of post rut and deer getting back on normal feeding/bedding routines. Best of both worlds so to speak. If it wasnt for heat and biting insects id be all about early.
Good luck morning killers. Dollowing from the home office. Stupid work. Yesterday things got interesting. I was hiking up the mountain up a ditch I use to access and could here deer crossing above me, so I stopped. Leaves were crunchy. A good buck flashed horns right above me through a blow down. I never got a full look at him, but 15 yards above me. I never got a good look or shot. Got my fire lit finally tho.
Hey guys, maybe I missed something but I haven't seen anything from cls74 or bucksnbears. Anyone know anything about these guys? Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
My alarm for work goes off at 1:30 am. My shift isnt until 4 am but i come in early for OT to help the company. People think im crazy but instead of staying late in the evening for OT i spend that time with the family and i figure this schedule keeps me tuned up for hunting season
You, me and several others have asked the same over the past few weeks. I'm just hoping they're taking a break and are just fine.
Good luck all, kill! Me well lets just say age...hhhmmm Lower back is saying so you think you can sit for hours, ha!
I hate the cold and don’t have the destination food sources for late season. If I still have a tag I try and get it done. I do know late season can be magical if you find the right spots!
I’m going out as much as humanly possible without letting my jobs fall behind or having my wife beat me lol. End if this week and next do look great!
In the stand for AM, not a fan of AM hunts but it felt too perfect to give up this morning. Good luck everyone
Big doe with twin fawns feeding this way, she gets a pass. Not the group I was hoping for this morning
That was fun. I heard something behind me so I slowly turned left to look and the deer was about 15 yards out staring at me. It was dim and I didn’t see antlers. It blew and bounced out into thick cover where it proceeded to blow and stomp. It kept that up but kept getting closer. Finally it stopped blowing but I could still hear an occasional stomp and some noise. I heard something behind me to my right and that deer was 5 yards from me. It took off and blew a few times. but I think it’s gone now. Pretty sure it was a doe or a very small buck because in my experience good bucks don’t act like that. I didn’t expect anything to come from behind me.
When I climbed this small white oak yesterday I had to cut about 10 limbs. They are all on the ground. I didn’t worry about it because I expected any deer that showed up to walk the road. I’m sure the change in environment got its attention. Okay, lesson learned.
Been set for a bit, just hit shooting light. Good luck if you're out. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk
