Got permission on a new property in PA this summer, only 20 minutes from the house, had a few bucks come through on camera yesterday, excited about this one!!
Thats key with small kids. Find those hunting spots close to home. That way your home earlier. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Recovery is going well. NOT using the walker. the past two days I’ve gone outside and shot my bow at my coyote 3D target. Walking a lot more
That time of year again! Way behind on getting ready as usual. This thread should help get me motivated.
It took 105 letters for one yes and it’s shared permission, but it will help me stay in the woods so I’m pumped!
yup, I'm caving in... putting out a Browning cam tomorrow/Sat. ... said I wasnt this season, but I do miss seeing what came thru, even though I dont really use to 'scout' per say as I wont check it for many weeks (reg. SD card cam) ... I found a new unopened pack of lithiums I forgot I had and I thought why not use 'em .. glad I had 'em, the price of lithiums are stupid, Ive seen $27-32 for a pack of 8 ... going down during the cool front, I'll check a few locations while there too .... may even put out one more next weekend after squirrel season starts .. other than rechargeable's, does anyone know of any AA's that can come close to the lifespan of lithiums, and esp. for cold weather use (30 deg and under) ? .......
If you buy one of those small lead acid batteries with solar panel attached, those will run well over a year of continuous use. They are about $50 but with the crazy price of lithium it pays for itself in no time. You can get them on Amazon. The brand is HME or Stealth cam. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
Ive thought of that, however, this is State land and I would think the solar panel could draw unwanted attention even when up 12 or so ft .... Ive seen the panel's on Camofire quite often .... cant see using those big batteries 12 ft up either
Went for a squirrel hunt and scout my oldest this morning. Squirrels were a bust despite going into a couple of spots where the squirrels were thick during deer season. Put out a cam in the white oak grove where I killed a buck in November. I know the deer will be in the area late October and November the acorns dropping. It seems like a good travel corridor leading into a slough. I am going to let the camera soak until at least mid November and see if deer travel through there in early season as well. Found a nice track about 75 yards from where I hung the camera. We walked almost five miles total, eliminated a bunch of spots that looked good on a map but not so much in person. Hung a second camera in a spot that funnels into a creek bottom that parallels a milo field. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I've seen him or someone with the same name posting on another forum that's from Minnesota. I assume he just hasn't been on here.
