Here I am once again sitting here waiting on daylight. I’ve never been one to give up but I’m not hunting this afternoon. The heat and swirling wind are more than I want to deal with. It’s supposed to be mid 90’s today and tomorrow. I’ll hunt this morning and tomorrow morning and that’ll do for this trip.
First saddle set up in dark. Went smooth. Dang does were already back near bedding 1 hr before sunup. They didn't spook but doesn't bode well for seeing movement this am. We shall see.
Finding the bedding area on public land is more than half the battle. Come November bucks be checkin out the ladies. You should be in them. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
Get 'em LC and VS. LC, you prove year after year that you can find deer, dial in where to be, and make good shots. Don't let these first few hunts get into your head. You'll fill your freezer up just like you always do. You're dealing with hot/crappy early season hunting conditions so far. 90°, bleh! At least you're out there, I'd be sitting in the AC wishing I was hunting. VS, what a great big doe, very nice. You just removed a Monica from the woods, we all thank you.
I’m not worried. I’ll get started eventually. Those sits in 90+ degrees, high humidity and almost no wind that don’t end until almost bed time really drain me. I can’t complain too much though. I did have two opportunities the last two afternoons. I just did something wrong both times. I’ll get better.
Did not see anything last night in stand. I did check a camera I have there and had a buck cruise through the day prior when I was there freshening up a scrape. Also had some bears roll by. Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
