When I climbed down this morning and moved my stand I never saw the trail those deer traveled. If I’d walked 10 yards farther I’d have seen it. I can see it plainly from my stand. It’s 10 yards to my left. If anything walks it and the wind doesn’t screw me I won’t even have to stand up to shoot.
No good news for me. Really disgusted with myself right now. I jumped him. And tried to track him but he dipped and dodged out of my sight. Tried everything I could. I believe that the arrow tucked in at the top of the lungs and below the back straps. Only clipping the lungs. Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk
Not that I could see which is why I think it was a high hit. I'm gonna shoot my bow tomorrow and leave the stand be til Saturday morning. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up with him again this season. If he does show back up I'm definitely going to save a tag for him. I'm hating the fact that I wounded him. Sorry to hear that Nick. I would have bet money on the picture of that blood. It doesn't sound like it was lethal, so get after him again.
Lol I love snakes. A.J.and I have issues over his need to kill every snake on our place. I'm hoping I save a monster 4 ft gart snaked from him this afternoon. Sadly I think he damaged him. I've only had two run ins with rattlers. One inside sisters house and one just missed my leg mowing the lower field on the small JD.. I fear ground bees more.
The wind has screwed me the entire sit. It’s been fanning different directions and covering a 70 degree cone covering the entire possible deer path to me.
25oz to boot, you deserve it. That’s my problem I enjoy too many beers Hahah. I find reasons to drink them tho !
Last light was 7:25. At 7:10 I decided to get down. It was pretty dim and I knew that I wouldn’t be able to tell what a deer was at 20 yards so I decided to get down and leave everything in the tree for the morning hunt. I put my quiver on my bow, put my binoculars and rangefinder in my pack, hung the bow on the hook, un-cinched the top section of my climber and used the cinch strap to cinch my bow to the tree like I do. I had just cinched my bow when I hear deer running in. Two does ran in from a completely unexpected direction and stopped 7 yards from me wide open with no clue I’m there. So, there I am with two does in chip shot range and my bow is strapped to my tree. This is my season so far.
It's awfully dang hot here too. To make things just a little more fun, Something dragged a rotting dead armadillo about 5 feet behind my ground blind and left it there. Nothing like a steamin' hot blind that reeks of Eau de stanky armadillo.
