At my cabin now. Forecast says around 1.5" of rain starting tonight and ending late Sunday eve. I will be stuck here. Got plenty of grub/ beer.. Bring it,, need moisture SO bad.

I am in. 30 yards off of a bed that I jumped a buck out of in July. Swinging for the fences on opening morning. Red moon morning, 69 minutes to shooting light.

I’m all set up on public land in Arkansas. I got settled in a full hour before first light. Had a heck of a time finding my way in because my phone compass was 90 degrees off so OnX was saying west was north. Wasn’t too difficult to make the mental adjustment. I’m glad I headed out early.
Shooting was about 10’minutes ago. Saddle selfie and few of the bed at 30 yards. Got a buddy set up about 500 yards away.

Pretty sure I just killed a doe. 16 yards quartering away. She ran about 70 yards into another thicket and I heard a crash. Reloaded, ready for a buck now.
