Gotta love that!! Congrats!! Only thing that sucks about that is it’s twice the work if you process yourself.

Welp I made it home. 2 does came busting in being chased by a small buck. They hung around for a whole but could not get off a shot. I don't know why he was chasing them this early.

I saw him! Well, I assume it was the buck I jumped walking out this morning because he came from the correct direction and he was the right size. I was sure he'd jumped the fence onto the neighbor's property.

I'm hunting 25 yards south of the fence line. At 7:24, 14 minutes before first light I saw him a good way on the other side of the fence. He was heading down the hill towards the pond at the bottom. He never got closer than 50 yards, but it didn't matter since he was on the other property anyway.

It was kind of dim, but as best I could tell he was either an 11 or 12 pointer and somewhere in the 135 - 140 range. I don't know if he will come back and bed in the same thicket or not in the morning but if he does then I may have a shot. It depends on what route he takes and if he beds down before first light.

At least I saw a deer from my stand and I know I have a good buck in my area.

Always. Cost to much not to. Out of state though, we cut out all the large chunks of meat and put them in gallon bags. Bring them home and then take our time processing. Makes for more hunting time.

    Congrats fellas on the kills.
Fun to see the "LFtS thread" is catching up to the Big Toe thread in terms of post counts...

Spent today (mn opener) putting out rub trees.
Put out 1 98 yards out the back window. Didn't do any scent control.
Watched 5 ( all young) bucks come to it before dark.
None rubbed it but they all sniffed it.
    Fun to watch.

Glad to see some of you getting after it.

Swampy, get your mind straight and don't you dare quit!,.

Cool temps got me feeling frisky. May go on a coyote calling mission in the morning?

    Good luck tomorrow all.
