Was out working on my garage project today and had a pile of dirt pushed up. Found this laying in it. Was wondering how the bow hunting was back then in this area. I have found many over the years, but it's such a surprise everytime I pick one up. 20240608_175938.jpg

Listen this is JUST for first couple of minutes. To make us all feel better over what we endure during season. Lol at least we all know how to prevent this....

Was out on a walk with my daughters, SIL, granddaughter and wife…I let out a few barred owl calls, my eagle eyed daughter spotted the juveniles…

I can remember a opening Turkey season several years back, from be fore light to after, I had 6 of those owls around me talking up a storm... was a blast, every time I hit my owl call they all started talking ...

Loosened up 6 treestands and took 1 down today. Done at this property - 13 stands there.

I have to move one stand and put up a stand on another property.

Got close to a hen today. Figured her nest was nearby. Nope, 2 or 3 day old poults. Awesome. 1000007476.jpg

Wow just realized MN rifle opener doesn’t open until 11/9 this year. LETS GO! It was 11/4 this last year. Always appreciate a few extra days with the bow the beginning of November.

Yeah I always love it in Indiana when Nov 11th falls on a Saturday. The law reads that firearms starts on the first Saturday after Nov 11th. So if the 11th is on a Saturday it doesn't begin until the 18th. But that being said, our firearms season is still too long

Made the move from NC to MO. Very excited. Already scouted the area. Got the man cave in the works. Loads of deer hang out in my yard and my area. Should be a good place to live and hunt. Just need to build the butcher shop in my john deer room. Anyone have any pictures of home butcher shops? 20240610_180132.jpeg 20240610_180149.jpeg 20240612_074456.jpeg 20240611_102236.jpeg 20240610_134407.jpeg 20240610_081351.jpeg

Why I'm not seeing deer like I use to
The pack of yotes that woke me from a sound sleep is huge!
Multiple dogs all yiping and howling at once yards from the house. I had to scream shut up 3x's to get them to finally stop!
Between them and the fisher stuffing fawn / turkey parts in my stands it's a wonder we have any wild life.

Well one good note to that, fewer raccoon and skunk issues, so there's that...

Ok so he either broadcasted clover or alfalfa in the field next to us. What would you think this time of year? It just sprouted.
This could be a good thing in early season. I have grains and some clover. The grains will be cut and dragged then I'll have brassicas layed down. Then there is the corn on my south boarder

No ideas on what he planted so late in spring? Curious to your thoughts. The sprouts are still just the guard leaves. With zero rain due for the next week, He had better planted alfalfa. My fields of rye are getting lighter green and heads are plumping up.
