I am a little concerned with that. So I have plans B and C. I actually believe they will do so and will try and use them to my advantage.

FWIW (those that messaged me, I spoke with or been praying)-Still not employed. I’ve been applying for jobs like crazy (probably 150-200 for jobs, most all that I know I’m fully qualified and capable of), but a relatively very small number of interviews.

I should have a third interview with a consulting company later this week. So hopefully a good fit and situation changes soon. This may mean I return to the workforce as a road warrior.

In the mean time, I’ve been laying low…chronic back pain, and just injured a tendon in the forearm/tennis elbow…my pickleball game had been improving, but now I can’t even draw the bow.

Turkey season in 2.5 weeks and I'll be hitting the woods again...

I hate to hear the job search has drug on this long! Good luck on the birds. If you want to look for some mountain birds, gimme a shout. I know a couple spots.

Our turkey season opens on April 8. I'll try to get one with my bow again, and maybe this year I'll finally pull it off. I should be able to post from where I'm hunting this time, so I got that going for me. I counted 16 in one field out there a couple weeks back while scouting around some private ground. This is the first year I've been excited about turkeys in some time

You are correct. I saw the 2023 dates on the nc hunt app and didn't realize it was for last year. Thanks!

Scouted my face off in Ohio on a huge public parcel I moved to last season, I been slowly dissecting areas in a broad way then once I find decent areas I been fine combing them. Found a killer area towards the end of the day and gonna focus on and around it this year and use my area from last as a back up. I have a buck I been after make it through I pulled the card. I couldn’t find his sheds tho. He is in between a new and old spot and traveling through small pine tree groves. It’s a tricky spot but I’m gonna give it a shot. He’s big and I have other big ones on cam too. Here’s some pics of em from a video.

I found multiple entrance and exit trails for different winds going into and outa the two pine groves, they lead into tighter timber and I can get to it from a main road with the proper wind on the one sides and other side will be tricky but I can sneak up a creek bed to the one point to hunt it, I found 4 trees and went up them and cleaned out lanes and set them up. Time will tell, planning on another scout trip on Monday.

He’s definitely smart, I got a lot of guys on this cam too and this buck kept skirting around. Looking forward to play cat and mouse this upcoming season.

Awesome buck man!!! I am jealous of those scouting trips, I wanted to get out a bunch this winter but just didn’t get the time. Don’t think I will get out much at all during the spring with baby boy arriving next week
