Hopefully they get it restored soon. Do you have a generator?

No deer seen. It was windy. Had 20 mph winds nonstop, with up to 50 mph gust. Probably not smart to hunt, but got to go when I can.

I am opting to hunt public land Monday morning instead of going to private this evening or tomorrow evening because of the wind! Hopefully the deer will be on their feet before the snow storm

Good call. I will work Monday because the weather will be good. But if we get snow Tuesday, then I probably won't work. Then I hopefully get a evening sit in the snow!

Interesting observation this evening. One I hope I don't forget. It's about how deer interact.
For the past 2 weeks or so, the same 2 does and thier fawns have came to the bird feeder like clockwork.
We were in an all out blizzard today. Same 2 does and 4 fawns came in.
Within 10 minutes, my woods came alive with deer.
There is a sugar beet field across the river from me where a good amount of deer (80_100) deer are feeding.
Must have been to nasty for them to brave the cold and wind so a bunch decided on visiting my birdfeeder.
The 2 mature does said eff that!
Even the 4 fawns got into it with the newcomers.
    1/2 hour of UFC 2024!
Guessing 18/20 deer came (no bucks) but it was a fun thing watching the 2 regular does piss pound the lurkers.

Them does can be downright mean!
Was so fun to watch at 20 feet whilst drinking beers.

Well I will be headed down to MD in the morning, alarm set for 3:30… some may call me crazy but hey in a few months we will all be chomping at the bit to watch the sunrise from a tree. Think I have a bit of a perfect storm for deer movement high winds yesterday and today, pretty significant temp drop from now till the morning, and snow coming in tomorrow evening into Tuesday, hopefully all those factors will have them on their feet in the morning

Power never came back on until 12:30 this afternoon. Thank God I heat my house with a woodstove. I do have a generator but it obviously needs serviced because I couldn't get it started. I'm sure it's due to the ethanol in our gas.

Pull the fuel line out and make sure it’s getting gas and if you have an inline fuel filter replace it. Mine was all gummed up when I went to start it this year. Glad they got the lights back on and you have a wood burner

Decided to throw in the towel today. Was going to maybe go out this evening for the grand finale but i just wasnt feeling it . Back is stiff and i doubt hanging a set in 2 degree weather wouldve done me any good. Time to lick wounds and start getting ready for next season. Hoping to pound some geese but southern illinois is kinda dry on birds and im iced over. I just may try to call in a coyote tomorrow. Also cant wait to hunt crappie and turkey

Chapters end chapters begin, love All the different seasons to get after fish and critters. I’m close to full time yote and fox hunting with a side of steelhead. Heading back for deer tomorrow evening and a couple more times this week then I’m about done.

Alarm is set for 3:15! Can’t wait, been awhile since I have had a morning hunt, love the spot I am heading to for a morning hunt, when I was last there in December they weren’t coming in until around 8:30-9am. Camera died on the 6th so not sure what to expect tomorrow, according to the weather channel they got a little bit of snow there today, hoping to have a dusting on the ground, haven’t hunted in snow this year
