I'm up for the evening. All day rain yesterday, nice sunny day today, but windy. Let's see what happens.

No deer seen. Getting down to the end and probably have 4 or 5 sits left of the season. Looking to put 1 more deer down.

I went out Saturday morning by the house after the snow and got soaked. Everything was melting. It rained blobs of snow all morning. It seems the deer have shifted and are hanging out near the taller winter wheat fields a few properties away. (Thermal imaging recon). So i headed out yesterday afternoon and went to some public i had to grab a camera from. Long story short i walked a ton scouting and setup with only 45 min left to hunt. I was about 100 yds off the x. With about 20 min left i saw about 5 or 6 deer. No wall hangers. Then the coyotes were serenading me which was really cool. The video is below for any that like their singing. Dies off about half way through.

I have 1 maybe 2 hunts left next weekend and it looks like ill be on the foodplots with this weather. That will wrap up my season so fingers crossed. Ill probably shoot a doe and always a good buck. If its by the house ill probably let all but 2 bucks i know of go. IMG_6147.png

That's one subject that really frosts me, pun intended! We have a mild season and the climate crazies, along with their media lapdogs go crazy. But does anyone remember CHRISTmas 2022 in Indiana? 10-15° below 0 for three or four straight days along with 30-40mph winds and blizzard warnings. How quickly they forget the facts when it doesn't fit the narrative.

we had temps drop to 22 below around here in 2019 ... coldest Ive seen in my 60 plus years .. I was starting the truck every 4 hours just to be on the safe side, non-heated garage and when it was sitting outside at work, started it every 2 hours ... the polar vortex hit hard then ... with the Big Lake almost wide open, if the lake effect kicks in we can be really screwed here along the I94 corridor ...

Are you going to get the winds being predicted?

I have to admit winter is coming in later than what I'm use to or like. Not a cold lover in hunting but found if there is snow it's actually just a tad warmer than without. I also get a way better pin on deer activity outside of cams.
Winter is also staying longer into spring than I like ,thus putting up the green houses. Seeing tiny turkey poults later and fewer.

I’m on this little 30 acre lease I got this year, only second time in here, setup on a knob. Snuck in but bumped two that were on the point of it. My guess is this one came back around to investigate. I’m fired up and sitting till dark, buck only here on out!

I’m running on 6 hrs of sleep the last 2 days, been working outa state. Got done with the work a little early and headed home, I shoulda stayed in and slept but I wanted to take advantage of the snow on the ground and we’re getting crazy winds and warm up the next couple days. Plenty of time to sleep, it’s still hunting season!!!
