I will be hunting next fall and bringing hell with me when I come. Actually I plan on sitting with the grandsons early season just to watch in the box blinds. Greatest thing ever can bring snacks and just sit and watch, boys will probably watch the cattle out the back windows. No I pads I may take a few pics and answer their mother texts other than that just watch and relax.
I’m up and trying to decide if it’s wise to go out this morning. I left all of my gear including my bow in the tree last night, but that wasn’t an intelligent move. Yesterday afternoon I was feeling an irritation in a the back of my sinus. By the time I went to bed I was feeling a little bad. I tossed and turned until around midnight and then finally dozed off. I woke up at 4:00 (30 minutes before my alarm) to a very irritated sinus/throat area and pretty bad sinus congestion. I actually don’t feel that bad, but the cough that is getting worse tells me that chest congestion is building. It’s 25 degrees out and while I know it’s not a good idea to go sit in it all of my gear is in the tree like I said. Even though the odds are very slim that someone would stumble onto that tree I would be worried about it. I guess I’ll go, but instead of getting set up an hour before first light I’ll shoot for 30 minutes and if I feel worse I’ll get down. I have a mile ride on my bike and then I only have to walk 100 yards to my tree. It should be a good morning, and if I feel like hunting this afternoon I’ve spotted where deer are moving.
Good luck this morning Johnny but don't push it. I had the Flu last week and it kicked my butt. You sure don't want to be getting lightheaded in a tree.
I’m with dmax… you need to take care of yourself… that ride to stand and back in that cold isn’t going to help you feel better I’m on day 3 of whatever is going around… take care of yourself, Johnny Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good Luck, Johnny. I’m still coughing from whatever it is I caught back on Halloween. It sucks!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m set up with about 30 minutes to wait until first light. Aside from a bit of a cough I feel pretty good but that might change.
Good luck everyone! Went back to work yesterday after 12 days off. It was as glorious as can be expected. I will be getting out with my older boys this weekend for the final youth rifle weekend.
I will need to read back through the last 1 1/2 months worth of posts. Hope everyone is well. I didn’t go out hunting a single time after Mega was killed. It’s a new year and I’m ready to get back after it and find a new target. Heading on an ice fishing trip this weekend. Will post any fish we get into. Good luck to those still out! No, I didn’t see anything. I only sat until 9:00. That was all I could take. I pulled my stand and won’t be going back out until whatever I’ve caught has cleared up some.
I'm back. If you didn't see our team thread life has given me a kick in the balls twice in the past week. 1) Found out my brother died, cops had to break into his house and find his body. I did a rub down to MS to meet one of my sisters to try to get some affairs in order... 2) Returned to work today, boss called to let me know my job was eliminated, effective this morning. So, if you know of anybody hiring a data nerd (data management, data governance, data warehousing mostly in financial services and consulting businesses)...
Damn, bro… I am so sorry! Text or call if you want to talk, pray, whatever 716-912-4832 Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
