Thanks guys! Been working like a mad man and didn’t have time to scout or change batteries in cameras. I had one camera which was hanging on but it had a sticker bush in front of it so some of the pictures just did not turn out. On 9/7 I get this picture. I immediately recognized the buck as “pincher” a buck a wanted to kill in 2022 and had numerous close encounters with. 2022^ Based upon getting the 2023 picture I didn’t wanna change the batteries in my cameras and walk all over the farm so I put out one new camera. A day later I got this. Based on that picture I knew he was bedded close so I snuck in and hang a stand based upon where I thought he was bedded. My observations from that stand proved that he bedded where I believed him to be, but he didn’t enter the beans within the area I needed him to. He came out on 9/11 about 75 yards from my stand and continued away. Based upon those observation’s I immediately determined that I would have to kill this buck from the ground as there was no climbable trees within the hedgerow. The other side of the hedge contained standing corn. In 2022 he was also bedding in standing corn. On the evening of 9/12 I snuck within 30 yards of where I saw him exit on 9/11. I was tucked in very good and luckily had ample cover and the wind was perfectly in my face. As soon as it hit 1900 my bow was stand in my lap and my release was hooked to the loop. At approximately 1920 I saw movement to my left (just outside the above picture) I looked over and observed pincher standing there red antlers, shedding, velvet, etc. at 30 yards. I hadn’t ranged that area b/c I had no idea he was there. He stood there peering in my direction cleaning him self for a short period of time. Throughout the hunt I had changed my one pin sit from 20-30 yards several times as I played scenarios out in my hand, it was on 20. So as soon as he looks away I slide it to 30. As I slide it to 30 he starts walking away with a purpose. So now he is walking toward a pre ranged area. I set the slider to 40. He then leaps across the small drainage ditch and stops. At this point I’m locked in at full draw. Buck fever is not a thing it happen to fast. I am just in my head. Sight picture, level, follow through. And I let it fly and he takes a step forward. At this point I hear thwack, he buckles, regains, mule kicks, and bounds off. As he does I can see my lighted nock in what appears to be his right hindquarter. I like the initial reaction and feel confident about my shot. My buddy was hunting behind me in the stand a hung the evening before as a contingency. I called him and dude done deal. He said bro he ran to the top of the hill, stopped, and started licking but I never saw him come out of the bowl. So I exit my hide and slow progress forward with him watching the bowl. I go to the last stop he saw him and see what in my opinion was arterial blood spray. Take another 10 steps forward and the blood thins out. I was like whatever I am gonna back out 3-4 hours and give this deer time. Came back around time and pick up last blood. From there blood was spotty. 20 yards later it’s completely gone. Then it starts pouring big ole storm. So I was like I am gonna go where I think he went. Maybe 50 yards later I spot some blood along the standing corn. I just continue to follow it and BOOM there he is. But like no blood at all. He died within 30 yards of my 2022 buck and went about 300 yards. The arrow entered his right hindquarter, went through his stomach, liver, and left lung. I call it plan B, 530 grain arrow at 70 lbs it’s gonna smack you. It was a drag… I didn’t wanna bother the farmer at 2300. KEEP AFTER YOUR DEER BLOOD OR NO BLOOD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cool and wet out there let's see if the doe come by this morning . I checked the farmers corn and something has been in it several rows in knocking stalks down. So much food everywhere they aren't touching my apples, plums or pears. Everyone up here has apples and some wild plum. Only I and an abandoned place down the hill has chestnuts. Which aren't near ready. Zero on reds this year. No whites around.. lots of corn and lots of dry beans. Let's hope the rain last night kicks in the rye better and the rape. I'm hitting them with nitrogen after my hunt.
Awesome buck! Congrats on staying with it. I glad you were able to find him after that crazy rain last night. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk

Thanks guys!! Best I can duplicate. Based on my observations after the shot I think he feel backward and impaled himself. He flopped around at the death site a good bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
