I am a little pissed at whoever brought this tripod stand down to this food plot. You can clearly see the tire trail going through the middle of it. Someone illegally drove an atv or side by side im here to set that up. All the trails leading in here are clearly marked as no vehicles, walk in or bike in only. No way that packed in here almost a mile. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Maybe a disabled hunter or something along those lines. I was in a similar situation in Ohio on public and was like wtf is going on back here and they have a hunt for disabled people. But it was off limit to other hunters for a month and the stand was still back there with all kinds of vehicle tracks when I was there last. Apparently the sites were baited too.
I’ve been digging through Missouri’s regulations trying to figure out if I had to wear orange while bow hunting during the Alternative Weapons Season (muzzleloader). I’ve never bow hunted during this season before and it was tough to find but the answer is no. No orange required while bow hunting during the muzzleloader season. I still wear the orange vest to my tree, but it’s good to know I can take it off and not worry about getting written up.
There some WMAs that offer handicap access. This is not one. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Nothing so far, 45’minutes of legal light left, probably less with cloud cover. Light misty rain just started, maybe that will get something up. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The only thing I saw was a coyote and I came close to killing him. May be my last sIt of the year. I'm extremely busy the next two weeks.
With about five minutes of lightleft, I had two does come out at the edge of the plot about 40 yards away. There was limbs from a tree in the way with no shot. One of the m spotted me moving in the tree for a shot and they took off. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Careful now, that resembles some folks I met have met from my wife’s side of the family. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
is it worth calling the DNR/Property mgr. and letting them know what that idiot did ?? two years back, some fool put a ladder up in an area where stands can NOT be left up, pack 'em in/out every hunt (thats why I hunt there) .. "no stands can be left unattended" per property regs .... I took a pic of it which showed the GPS co-ordinate of it, texted it to the Mgr, they came the next day and cut it down. they left a note in a baggy tacked to the tree, " you can claim your stand at the office, and the ticket that goes with it" ... a CO also got involved on that one ..
As I climbed my tree today I saw a big tree box blind. Someone had built it right in the thick cover. Illegal. 2nd one I've see in that area. Frustrating.
You need to wear orange here now during any gun season if your hunting with a firearm or if you accompany a hu ter with a fire arm or crossbow. Though apparently not if holding a bow? I wear at least a orange cap. If going into any thick area near property edge full camo orange. I had to get down early tonight, rain was dripping into my eyes and I was soaked. No deer seen.
