Im up. Was gonna just go to the goose pit this morning with these winds but id be alone. I dont care much to waterfowl hunt alone. So here i am half rutted down and tired. Thats okay though so are they. Need to find food and a place tucked out of these 20mph NW winds. I have a good spot but it borders property owner that may not let me track and recover if need be. Depends on what mood this lady is in. A real treat if ya know what i mean. Good luck anybody else. Lets show em that just cause its dang near january they arent off the hook!
Good luck you two! Hoping to get a afternoon sit in this week also. Maybe Wednesday. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I’ve seen one squirrel so far. It’s not that cold but this wind is brutal. Screw this. I’m getting down.
Dang it! Was just full draw on a real good 8pt for about a full minute. Saw him sneak in on me last second and realized my dumass didnt knock an arrow. Managed to get that done and got ready. Came to full draw and he froze. Felt the freaking wind swirling. He caught a whiff. Held at draw for a good minute before he decided to back up and cut into the field. Two more steps he would have got smacked at 22 yds. So close!!!!
I had big plans for this afternoon. Went up in smoke due to an early soccer practice. Tomorrow afternoon it's on.
It was this one so my bad a 9 not an 8. I had a feeling this wind might get the big boys on their feet. They just cant seem to get comfortable enough to stay put in these winds. Now i have 4 more days of work then a few off for Christmas . Stay safe out there brothers and sisters! The trees were literally ripping apart today.
It's healing fast after a couple months of just dead skin forming. Very glad I finally went to the doctor.
Hoping this is a good omen before my hunt today. This has never happened to me and will probably not ever again. What a beautiful animal. As I closed the door to my truck this beauty landed on my driveway gate.
