Agreed, it’s the “right” thing to do.

Almost forgot about this. I snapped a quick pic when the sun popped out below a cloud layer. This was about 10 minutes before I shot the doe. The does came out of the thicket right behind the big tree in the pic.

Good luck LC I think taking the dog in is the move I would make too just to be sure it wasn’t a lethal hit

All set up on public in Maryland, same tree I shot the doe out of last week. Camera has had a couple bucks come through in daylight since then. Lots of sign on my way in. Good luck out there guys!

Very slow so far, nothing but squirrels, it’s so crunchy I can hear a long ways off. Hopefully they start moving soon

Since October I've been hobbled by a foot injury. Didn't want to slow down and get checked out bc of huntjng. Darn cut from glass in my foot is hurting like heck! I need the doctor today to help heal me so I can start my private land knock and talk campaign.

We have it a good try but you can’t recover a deer that’s not going to die.

Rip tracked like a champ to last blood and then picked up the trail we couldn’t decipher last night, which was heading west. At 0.4 miles into the track he jumped her and the chase was on. She had stopped bleeding but the physical activity must have made her bleed just a bit more. At 1.25 miles we found a tiny speck of blood where she crossed a creek.

We knew she wasn’t going to die so we caught Rip and headed back to the cabin. Rip did a fantastic job.

All told we tracked her 2.1 miles.

I’m pretty bummed. Up to this one I had a perfect record this year. Also, I definitely hit a limb. Last night I didn’t knock the dirt off the broadhead. I did this morning and the Slick Trick was bent up pretty good.

You did your due diligence, this is the best outcome without a dead deer recovered.

Good job getting after her this morning. The blood pics are appreciated and certainly tell the story. Now you know she'll be ok... merely.jpg

Well I whiffed on a spike at 30 yards 4 spikes came in around 9:45, two of them headed away from me, one came towards me but stopped at 30 yards behind a tree, sat there for 10 minutes just looking around, then the 4th spike got close to him, and he started walking towards him and away from me. Stopped him in what I thought was an opening at 30 but turns out there was a small tree in the way… there goes an arrow but atleast it was a clean miss… having a rough go at it this year. Got a consolation prize on the way out when I stumbled into this shed from last year IMG_1653.JPG

Glad to see shes gonna live LC .

Next time Adam, still time to put one down.

Good luck everyone. It's about 25 here with a wind out of the NW. Here's hoping for some antlers.

I’m up for the afternoon in a brand new spot. I’ve hunted this area many times but I’ve never sat this close to the field edge. I

I do know that someone has been in this tree recently though. This was at 20 feet. Not sure what they used the belt for but hey, whatever works for you.
