Obviously the picture appears to be arty spray. But there isn’t enough of it yet I backed out. Gonna give it sometime. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've shot 3 deer in the hind quarter. One deflection, one turned as I was releasing and the third was slow walking. Recovered all 3 within 75yds. Hind quarters are far more lethal than shoulder hits, especially when the broadhead stays in.
Heavy and steady, especially the one in 2018. I was following that one looking 15-20 feet ahead. That was the one that spun and the head entered back of center but never entered guts. The first one I watched fall within 12yds. Thought he bedded as he just laid down, no stumbling or anything. The slow walker was a doe, but still a good blood trail but nothing like the 2018 one.
Here is what the trail looked like https://forums.bowhunting.com/threa...stand-thread-2018.93768/page-472#post-1467894
He was bedded 30 yds from me in the beans for 3.5 hrs. He stood up at 1930 and I had to readjust my sight. He then started to walk away and stopped at 40 yds. I set my sight to 40 and let it go as he took a step. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm no trail expert, but I'd say it is not just brushing up against stuff blood trail. Where arrow is pointed looks like it splattered, not smeared, on that weed. Like the blood was forced out. Being lung isn't involved I would lean to yes.
I tracked maybe 20 yds saw that and just backed out. It’s gonna rain gonna get back out before 2300. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I shot him like 1920. He buckled on the shot and loud thawk. Again not 100% on where but looked like hind. Happened to quick Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How hard of an angle? Maybe femur was the thwack? Reading back on my 2018 hit, entered 4" to the right of tail in right rear ham and broadhead poked out front side of ham. A lot of arteries in the rear quarter, doesn't necessarily take a femoral slicing. Adrenaline and heart pumping on the run can drain them quick. Dead now, still dead later so no harm in waiting.
Slightly quartering away. He bounded over the ridge I was unsure of where I hit him, but I am confident about the spray so I just backed out. After that spray I walked another 10 or so yards and didn’t see much so we will see. The arrow inside him could be prohibiting blood lose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
