Just watched two does feed by just out of range.

    At least I saw does.

I think you were just hoping to see does. I don't remember being in range a requirement.:lmao2:

ƁHH always seems to " git r done".
Did some scouting after work about 10 miles away.
Checked out about 10/ 12 miles of riverbottoms. Crazy about of deer tracks.
Told a couple buddies that still have tags I'll do some drives to them this weekend.
Miles of roads/ trails that didn't have a tire track since the snow last Saturday.
Most here cannot even fathom that.

Why the heck would I want to see does out of range since that’s all I can shoot?

I figured that kinda went without saying.

You were seeing so many bucks, you just wanted to see does. It's like when you are buck hunting and only seeing does. The tables have turned. Tomorrow is another day Johnny! The way I see it, your taking intel and moving in for the kill tomorrow.

When I got to my parking spot this afternoon there was another vehicle there. I was hoping I wouldn’t run up on him and disturb his hunt.

    I didn’t.

Riding my bike out I saw him walking out ahead of me. I caught up to him, stopped and talked for a bit.

He had always hunted with a crossbow but three weeks ago he bought a compound and started hunting public land.

He hasn’t killed anything with the compound yet and I don’t think he has seen a deer on Wattensaw yet.

I figured what the heck, let me see if I can help him out. He has OnX so I sent him a pin of where I saw the good buck Sunday afternoon. I showed him where to park and how to walk in so he doesn’t bump him.

I certainly can’t kill him. Well, not legally anyway. Who knows? Maybe he’ll kill that joker and be hooked for life.

I also told him that if he kills one while I’m still here to let me know because I have the bike and the cart to make his life easier.

I’ll sit the same tree tomorrow morning. The wind forecast for tomorrow afternoon is iffy, so I might hit another spot tomorrow afternoon and try to come back to this one later.

You're a great American Johnny! Keep the passion alive.
A guy running a red light with the sun in his eyes at 55 mph and T-boning me ruined my vertical bow passion in 2008. He didn't stop my passion to hunt, just the tool.

I’m the same tree this morning. Just after daylight a buck cruised the same path the does took yesterday afternoon. I’m pretty sure that means a trail and not random browsing.

The wind isn’t the greatest today for that trail but I think I can set up on the downwind side and give myself a chance.

I guess that would be better than trying a new spot where there might be nothing moving.

I'm the worst at asking for permission on private property. 30 mins south of me there are some really nice chunks of terrain filled private properties. I started really looking them over and felt with a little individual research I could secure permission on a few. Then I started thinking about selling myself to some stranger, begging for permission. Not my cup of tea. Idea aborted.

I doubled up this morning. One dead before it hit the ground and the other didn’t go 20 but I had to bring out the tracking dog to get it out of the brush. Both had a little ground shrinkage. Live from the sunporch window. 9BD15D7B-6844-4AE5-8599-1C3AA9E62390.jpeg

You should just try, I feel uncomfortable doing it and have only done it 3 times but I’m 1 for 3. Everyone has been polite and I consider the the one guy a friend now,
