Negative based on my random observations from the NCANG 145th, based on our wind...But the wind would have to be out of the north or east for me to have provably taken notice.
Thanks guys ,phew man I thought I'd have to eat chicken, turkey and pork all year. I shot him as he watched hubby back down the drive. He heard shot and had hanging pole all set up when I brought him home. Timing...lol He'd had several passes but I need meat in freezer. Very rutty smelling with surprisingly dark hocks.
If I can get another one or 2. I have an ask out to son for a doe he's gotten two and his bow buck.. I still have some left from last canning. Stew and just cubed. I just tried some fresh sausage seasoning , making chicken sausage. Man they were good! So steaks, sausage and ribs. Hope to get another but no longer sweating it. Gun ends Sat. And muzzle late bow start.
Will check it out OND. very happy you got a deer. The way your luck goes, please make sure someone close by when butchering. Lol.
You know what the topping was....sent pic to FIL and he called me so excited and wanting all the details. He said I was worried it's never taken you this long..lol. He was an avid hunter and stayed at camp the whole 3 wk gun season before moving out to Colorado. Now that made me very pleased. He said make sure you send pics of the next ones too... He's optimistic!
Man idk about that. Probably some skill to both. Ive seen some peoples “scouting skills” and not sure if they could find a turd in a litter box.
Ive had some great hunts this year and passed a few nice bucks early season. Its been a struggle for sure since beginning of November. Just havent had an opportunity that made me want to release an arrow. Decided to take a short break and let the deer calm down since gun season. Then i get this pic last night from my buddy. Kinda lit a fire. We have been checking a “new to us” spot out. He threw a camera up and got this couple hrs after he left. Fyi. Looks like deer has no legs, hes standing in a creek lol. I had to do a second take.
I love canning. Just canned 24 quart jars of turkey soup. Thanksgiving leftovers. I can lots of veggies salsa and pasta sauce. Gonna can more soups, venison stew and venison chili throught the winter. I dont usually can the bulk of our venison cause it's too much , but always good to have some in jars in case the power was to go out for a sustained period of time.
What a stud of a buck. That would get me pretty excited too. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
