    That is outstanding!

I'm starting to get my 2nd wind. Have a semi decent plan to try and kill my first Dec buck. Need the weather to cooperate over the next 20 days or so.

I’ve actually had a great season so far but I understand. It’s really surprising that neighbors can be a problem when I live in the middle of the forest.

I’m set up for a two hour sit this afternoon. I didn’t see any point in getting on stand before 3:15.

There are rubs on trees here that weren’t here the last time I sat this spot.

Maybe I’ll actually see a deer.

Furnace ppl. Just left. Hope it's good news and we have heat.
21 more minutes and pretty dark.

I’m back at the house. About 45 minutes before dark two does were heading my way. I was ready but they turned, went east and stayed in thick cover until they came out into open woods.

Of course they came out right in front of the tree I sat last time 60 yards east and fed there for a half hour. I moved to the tree I sat today because I saw them there last time I sat in the other tree.

The little jerks seem to have my number, but I’ll get them.

Well the entire sit I kept hearing this strange rumbling coming from across the valley...couldn't figure it out. Now on occation they have set charges in the salt mine I've heard but that was years ago. Im not sure they still do that. At 5 with 11 mins left it got too dark to see the end of my barrel and rain hit.
I left and quickly found out what the sound was as lighting lit up the woods around me.
My 4 clover leaf garb almost worked as just before this I heard a young buck grunt right behind me on the ridge. He could see the empty plot and decided to not come in.
There was a gas leak, a valve that the repair crew fixed. Regulator valve. Apparently a second possible disaster averted.

I'm taking the hint that God is sending me.....
Many more important things I'm lucky about and getting lucky in deer season really doesn't compare.
    Possible fire averted check
    Possible gas explosion averted. Check
    Being Grateful. CHECK!

This cold wave coming looks like it's coming faster than predicted. I'm liking this cold front that will hit late this upcoming week. Coincides with potential 2nd rut and much darker nights bc of the waning moon. Time to kill.

I been patiently waiting to make a move, I got the bug again. All my gear is back where it need to be, cleaned up and ready to rock. I’m going out a couple times this week in the evening. Time to buck up !

Thought deer might be moving this morning after all the rain yesterday and more on the way. It's a beautiful morning feels like late April early May. Lots of birds chirping away but still no deer. Only hunting till 9 or so IMG_20231204_074131.jpg

My cam showed them out eating in some crazy wind rain and fog the other night.

I think I'll head out to gypsy blind , haven't Been there in a month. You can figure out why.
I did spot a flock of turkey today when going to check a cam I forgot About . Out back near old chicken coop blind.
Good thing I forgot about it, that was until I discovered note to self while sorting stuff in PC room.
GONE...LOL good thing it was an old cam with old 16 card that took spotty pics...just shake my head.
