Got a bit wet on my walk down hill. I have to say this is the first year ,ever, I have not seen movement of any kind in the neighbors swamp. Even when nothing crossed the line I've had a great show to watch. Buck, fawn, rodents, fox, fisher, doe. All that when he was in there all summer cutting fire wood he sells. This year he was down hill across r9ad cutting a 1/2mile away. I don't get it. A complete shift on entire upper hill.
I haven't even seen deer feeding on his neighbor big green field. Both older than me and not active in those areas as a few years ago. Deer should be loving those areas now. Even the turkey have disappeared. He had a good roost site and still should. Last time I saw turkey here was right when I planted the rye and oats
Yep something has happened other than The doe slaughter.

Got to head out between down pours. Grand pup sitting today . Beside mouse urine is about to make me puke. Rivers rug gets pulled and power washed this spring. Have a bit of repairs to make thanks to them. Hey not bad after 8 yrs and being made of card board. I have rubber roofing under rug so maybe rug won't return. Hhhmmmm just missed that opening. So much for radar.
Have not even seen a bird this morning, come to think not heard even a crow.

BNB, congrats on the doe. Looks like a bigg in.

I haven’t hunted in a while. Been sick. Feeling much better now.

    VS Looks and sounds promising

OND. I take back there isn’t a curse on you. I believe now.

Our season in OH is open until Feb and I still have a doe tag in my pocket and zero roasts left in the freezer. I haven’t killed a deer with my Hoyt or from the saddle. I would like to check off all those boxes. I’ll be getting after it between work and shenanigans.

I'm going to try and hunt this afternoon. Warmed up today. Had rain yesterday and lots of fog today. 2nd weekend of rifle here, so deer are on high alert.

Good luck to you all still getting after it!

Out with the 450 this morning, had a 8 point staring down what looked to be a nice buck but never came out enough to get a shot. Otherwise been a pretty quiet morning.

Fog finally lifted!!! Up until now I couldn’t see much past 50 yards. Caught a glimpse of a tail about an hour ago but it disappeared right away.
Another 1/2 hour and I’m out until this afternoon. Only heard a few shots this morning. I’m assuming the fog had slot to do with that.

Been out with the Muzzy today. I was out at sunrise, very foggy. Made a big loop and am now parked where I saw the 3pt and Doe during rifle. Gonna give it an hour then head the rest of the way down the hill. Have seen a Doe and Fawn as well as 2 other unknown deer, not big though. I have a Doe tag, but wont use it, enough meat in the freezer. Will shoot a nice Buck though if one comes by. Gonna dry out when I get down and then head back in to sit the stand this afternoon, in the Hope's that they come to food. Good luck out there today.

Out with the rifle this afternoon it's been slim pickens so far there won't be much that gets a pass tonight. 53 degrees and very little wind. Probably should take a nap for 2 hours.
