The more you show off your cabin, the more I want to buy your land .

I've been in. Some tracks out here. Will check the SD cards when I get to the house. About 8" of hard crunchy snow here, some flurries going on now, 25deg, babbling brook, beautiful afternoon. Bow goes from now through December 15, but Muzzleloader is the 2nd to the 10th. 20231129_153653.jpg 20231129_153659.jpg 20231129_153714.jpg 20231129_153704.jpg

I like them. Better out where you can see them versus packed away.

Thanks her health has me worried. Apparently BP DROP. she's in a high-pressure job, though being a perfectionist contributes to the pressure. She thinks stress and I worry something else is going on, not getting caught.

So checked cam from last night...EXACTLY 10 MINS after I left stand at 5:12, close , the deer showed up. So I wasn't even in the house yet. Did not go out tonight. Too busy vacuuming the basement and rearrange stuff to make furnace removal and install easier. Of course the main floor of house looks like a combo of Amazon and a hunting warehouse blew up. I don't care really. Will try to get some of that wrapped tonight. If I don't fall asleep

Thanks CanTex. The hunting here is (ok)

Looking at that pic, I noticed something that kinda teared me up.
That black strap on the door, below the handle was for my beloved dog to grab and let himself in.
    Door is just spring loaded.
He could go in / out anytime.
I showed him ONE time what that strap was for and he caught on immediately.

So much loved him and miss him.
Didn't feel like shooting tonight so went and had a few beers.

    Thanks MudShark.
I'm gonna take the one down on the post. Just don't like it. Looks gaudy?
    Will relocate that one somewhere.
1/2 hour before dark, I took a tour around to the other side of the river across from mine.
Seen about 75 deer feeding in a field that was wheat but they didn't work that field and had nice regrowth.

Was just dark enough where I could not see well with binoculars but enough to see several bucks and a couple that were danndies.
SO hoping we have a decent winter here.
The past 2 have been tough on the deer.
I've learned one thing though. No matter how bad our winters get and I get bummed out thinking it's gonna wipe out the deer, they are So Tough and survivalist.
Amazing they can survive with so little.

I saw a red fox and a red squirrel yesterday afternoon. Turkeys have been around, saw them earlier in the day. 2 Doe came in overnight on the cell cam. Nothing daylighting since the 21st and that was a couple Doe.

Think I will be out with the Orange Army December 2-10, up on the ridge, trying to get that nice 8pt in my sights. Then I'll spend afternoons December 11-15 back in the stand with my bow if I havent connected with him. Then that will do it for VT till next October 1.

I'll spend Christmas here with the family and then January 1 it will be back to NJ looking for a Winter Bow Buck.

Good luck everyone. Late season can be some of the best hunting.

Didn't get home from soccer practice until almost 1030 last night. I couldn't get up at 330am. So I'm just going to scout in the rain in a couple hrs. Explore a new peninsula on my kayak.

Looks like a hunting cabin to me. If it pleases you, then that's all that matters. But it looks fine to my eye.
I don't trust people much, I'd be worried someone would end up stealing them.

    BNB - I like it...I like it A Lot.

Tues night was the coldest weather we've had and we had a few inches of snow. I sat in the picked corn with snow camo. A bunch, 12+, deer came out but not where I could shoot. Last night, weather not as cold, in a spot where I would be able to get shotsss. The farmer was spreading manure, but quit an hour before dark. Almost no movement before dark. Dang. No shots. Really thought I'd get a couple of does. Weather is going to warm up for the next 10+ days. Hopefully it'll get nasty cold later in December.

MI gun season runs Nov 15-30. Muzzleloader runs Dec 1-10, I can shoot bucks. With all of the fawns I've been seeing, there is a chance some bucks are searching for them. Dec 11 - Jan 1 - Late doe firearm coincides with the last part of our archery season...so only way to shoot a buck is with a bow.

That’s one reason we chase them , such a great adversary. Tough animal to locate and hunt, constantly on edge.
