Here comes the West winds they warned us about. Deer around here don’t like to move when it’s real windy. We’ll see what happens.

Only place I ever encountered a mountain lion. I was about 50 yards from it. He was watching me, I was watching him. It was creepy.

You can see the pin in my screenshot where I saw him.

Trying to get my second wind after a long two months of the hunting grind. Get onto a good buck or two. Need to find the food.

I’m hoping these deer move before the wind gets here. I got in here early and with the moon could see the deer weren’t in the alfalfa so hopefully they feed here soon. It’s chilly down here in the bottoms.

    8* here now.
14 day forecast shows above average temps and basically no precipitation.
    Bring it!

Looks like a bunch of deer were in the pumpkin plot sometime in the middle of the nite.

The fawns are being bred here right now. Find those young ones that you have been passing all year. Hunt were they are!

I took yesterday afternoon off, slept in a bit this morning and got up a tree about a half hour ago to sit the mid-day period.

I’ll probably sit until 1:30 or 2:00. Hopefully a buck will push a doe by me.

Well, the hits just keep on coming. I tested positive for covid this morning. So I'm probably out all week. You know, it's just crazy. I've now contracted covid twice and never caught it at work, where I was exposed every day to it.

That sucks, on the bright side if you feel good you can hunt to stay away from everyone else….

Geez. What a great problem to have. Hoping a “buck will push a doe by me”. Yea LC me too, me too. I Cant get a good buck to come by me for nothing! After you fill your 20th tag you’ll be wishing a coyote would bump a buck which will spook a doe into flushing a turkey your way.

    :lmao2:

Being tagged out on bucks is nice but it’s a bit of a bummer.

Too bad you’re not here. This place is on fire. Bubba killed a good 10 point at 9:00 this morning. That makes 5 bucks in five days for the club.

Im gonna have to join you all one of these days. Im hunting alot closer to home lately. Having a special needs kid and a high strung puppy takes its toll. I had a feeling it was going to be hard on the wife this year so im taking advantage of having a decent couple hundred acres of private 5 min from the house and a few good public spots under an hr drive. I can be home to help her out when needed or for an emergency in no time. I think my hunting radius and especially all the multi day trip radius will have to slowly get back to where it was over time.

Wife and I are set up on the edge of a field in a ground blind. Wind and light snow making it feel more like January. Pushed a few doe off the field walking in.
350 legend in the wife’s hands.
    Good luck.
