    Just had a decent 8 pushing a doe my way and at 150 they turned and went back in the woods. Maybe 130. Tall tines narrow spread. Maybe next year..

    Power has been out since 1am at my house we got hammered with high winds last night. Hopefully it will be restored soon. Getting ready for the afternoon hunt I have a funny good feeling about tonight for some reason maybe it’s because I haven’t hunted this area all year I don’t think I’ll see anyone where I’m going.

    Would depend on time, if we're let go early.

    I did it in 2012. But one wasn't a clean kill. My first buck I shot on opening day right in shoulder. Found him dead 2 months later right in his bed. Infection got him. I did put my tag on him though, so season was over then.

    I finally bit the bullet and ordered a pulsar axion thermal to scan some access before i try to sneak in at a couple morning spots. I know i blew a big buck out once. Need to look at the laws though to see if i can have that thing in my backpack while hunting or if i need to try to use it then leave in truck. Anyone know in Illinois? .

    Huge pine thicker straight ahead slight breeze in my face even as wet as it was I was still able to break every twig possible on the way in. Excited to get here I forgot my chair. Still feels good. Good luck to anyone who's out. IMG_20231122_135022.jpg

    I haven’t hunted in a lil while, I called it quits early today and came out for an evening sit. First time hunting this spot all year, it’s a goofy spot that holds a bunch of deer typically. I’m only 300 yds off a major highway below a school and ball field. It’s only 6 acres, I tracked the owner down and got lucky he was home from his Vacation house in Florida to get his driveway sealed and told me to have at it! Good luck tonight everyone!
