I'm going to try one more time this afternoon. I don't want to booger up the swamp stands before gun morning. I also want to test a theory so I'll try that corner stand one more time if wind is right. The theory dogs are let out when I'm seen over there on that field. Not a peep out of either when I was behind their places in swamp stand. More a curiosity thing than an angst.
Opening Gun will have rain all night changing to snow for the morning.

    Good luck FEB!

I’ve had people tell me different things about the rapid tail wag. One said that it means a liver hit and another said it means death is imminent.

I really don’t know. What makes me think your buck is dead is that you said you hit him back but he was quartering away and your arrow was in him. That sounds like you hit the liver and the offside leg stopped the arrow which means to me he’s dead not far away because of what’s between the liver and that leg.

From my experience, death is minutes away. But, don’t want to jinx it.
I’m still in the tree, seen a few more deer.
    Getting down soon

The deer I shot last Saturday was mainly liver and back of lung. He flickered his tail fast right before he bedded down and died. Let's hope that's the case for your deer as well. Good luck on the track

This is hilarious the first time i brought my wife to my house when we started dating my room mate who is still my best hunting buddy had 3 pots boiling on the stove with skulls in them. It stank to high heaven and she asked if it always smells like that. Im like no not always the smells change all the time

Dead deer. The doe i just shot did same thing. She was quartered to a hair and 32 yds so she spun a little too. Destroyed liver and back of one lung. She ran 10 yds then slowwalked another 30 fast twitching tail an bedded down. I came back few hrs later to a stiff dead nanny. I bet he bedded down not far from where you last saw him and he’s a done bun

I checked it out. Was in RH so I did not attempt to shoot. Looks awesome and noticeably less material then other mathews. I heard shooting it you can tell it is a fast bow but I do not know. I shoot a hel i-m so I imagine it will be much faster. I also plan to shoot 80lb instead of 70lb

What part of TN? I've got about 150 miles left (Erwin to the VA state line) of the AT along our shared states border I want to cover in the next couple years.

Yep I got him, right where I thought he was going to be. The shot ended up being right behind the shoulder.
Turns out he’s a 10 point, not huge, but he had to go.
